If this poll is Coaches that only vote for players on their own team, it really doesn't matter.

Have you seen Flynn play? He deserves to be All-State and I believe that many people agree with me who have seen the kid play.

Yes I have and I agree that he deserves the award.

I totally agree, Its a dissapointment a kid like that deserves it!

I still believe that even if the kids at CCH did not get nominated, at least 2 will still be all state.

Their stats are too good not to be.

Relax, I get it, it's obvious this it's a silly way of doing things(much like the Major League's picking a player from each team for their All Star game) Just agreeing with the previous quote that it did'nt look like the 24 best players. I know how the voting works, just not agreeing with it.

Sorry next time I'll keep my opinions to myself on a message board filled with opinions

Silly . . . I will tell you what is silly . . . .a coach, who knows and understands what the process is--who doesn't show up to nominate his kids.

Whether you realize it or not--your comments are an insult to the coaches who found time to make it. If the coaches in this area would have played by the rules (funny how they were doing what your coach should have been doing) there wouldn't have been any one from Cov Cath recognized. They thought enough of a Cov Cath player to do the right thing--when the kids own coach didn't.

The top 24 is what it is . . . . . every coach up here understands what it is. It is not ONLY about athletics--it is also about being a well rounded young man (If I understand correctly--this group of 24 kids serves as the pool of candidates for the BRIAN WILLIAMS "Thats My Boy" Award). I would trust that the coaches in this area know which of their players deserves to be recognized. For whatever reason--your coach didn't think that anyone on your team should be recognized . . . . whose fault is that?

As far as the Players of the year/all opponent team goes--a coach doesn't just nominate their player and they make it (you could have picked this part up earlier if you would have read through the posts). They nominate--then debate with other coaches who have players at the same position. When those coaches hear the best case, that kid gets his spot. Again--read and understand the process.

You need to realize that there are a few times in life where your complaints sulley the efforts of some fine men--who are just as busy as the coach from park hills . . . . . (and in some cases busier) yet they found the time to do what is right by their kids. Your complaints and insults should be directed to park hills ........ not towards coaches who actually did what they agree to do when they join the NKY coaches association.

"I object your honor....this is devastating to my case."

Funny, I grew up being proud in myself and it didn't matter what anyone else said. Of course I grew up in an era where not "everyone" was handed a trophy. Relax. The boys from Cov. Cath. will be fine. They know the are something special, their coach knows it and their family and community know it. Nothing else matters.

I agree with this.

But you forgot one thing--a few of their fans (and a few others) don't know it . . . . .

And--don't realize that they are insulting the efforts of others--who chose to abide by the rules of the association--even though one of their own is at fault . . . . .

Also, Henry I am sure that you have been around the block before--but as a coach today--you are dead wrong if you think that Mom and Dad and sonny boy on the football team don't care about stuff like this. At some places (and admittingly NOT Cov Cath--things like this cause a great deal of issues) it is the start (or fuel on the fire) of numerous issues for a head coach.

So the lesson here is . . . don't insult the work of others because your "chosen one" decided to miss the meeting.

Well as a Mom of a senior and a freshman, and I think I speak for them, I'm sure it would be nice but it certainly isn't expected nor is it the most important thing in their football career.

Agreed!

I have said my piece . . . . nice talk, Mom (no disrespect intended!)

Henry521 Thank you for your comments. I could not have said it any better.

I know from a very reliable source that Cov Cath Coach R. was at the Coach's meeting and that the kids from Cov Cath were represented by him.

Not everyone that gets nominated gets elected to a spot. The 24 selected represent all of N. Ky and not one school. I am proud and happy for those nominated and even more proud of all of the N. Ky athletes who play for the love of the game and not the trophy. Being able to play is the most important part for every kids that put on a uniform, no matter whose uniform it is. Play hard and play proud.
