Arkansas in the National Championship

If the Irish pull off the upset then don't be suprised if Arkansas dosen't run the table and sneak in past everybody. They are the hottest team in the best confrence in football! McFadden is a MACHINE and Mazlahan has had an outstanding season!

I agree with you that the Ohio State-Michigan game is probably the best matchup in the nation as far a national championship goes. I don't really want to watch a rematch of those two teams in the Championship game. I would much rather see a new matchup. JMO.

So you don't think beating Florida (whom many argue should be in) and beating LSU (whom many think is the most talented team in the SEC) the last two games of the season will get them in while Michigan sits idle after blowing their shot?

No doubt. As I have said, McFadden is a freak. Smith and Slaton are the only two better IMO...

No. For UM or any one else to get in, it's going to take a USC loss. Thus USC stock drops. If they beat LSU, that's loss #3 for the Tigers, and they drop big time. Florida will not be enough...

Could change the human polls though and that would be enough.

All those factors will play into the human polls. I guess the best bet for Arkansas would be a solid USC win over ND and a L to UCLA. That throws a major kink in the way we've looked at this thing...

At that point, who knows. The computer numbers would be very interesting, and the human vote would be even more unpredictable IMO...

Just a theory but I think the human vote would lean heavily in the favor of Michigan in this scenario. With USC's loss to UCLA it would make Arkansas's only loss even worse than before. Michigan has the advantage as the pedigree of their only loss can't get any worse.

I agree that right now the only thing keeping UM from a rematch is a USC win over ND. It would be interesting to see the value of a 1 loss Arkansas in my situation. Their best player didn't play vs USC, and he has and will have to prove his value to get here. I'm all for UM and Arkansas in the final vote...

I agree, but IMO the score of the USC game will be too much to overcome in the minds of the voters.

 

In a sidenote in relation to the BSC thread, this is the best part of the BSC, all the discussion beforehand about who gets in and who doesn't!
