Auburn 78 New Mexico State 77 (NCAA Tournament Round 1)

Featured Replies

Final this is one of the wildest endings I believe I have seen in a very long time.

Auburn caught some bad breaks. There was one egregious attempt to foul that was simply not given and Auburn turned it over, a crucial moment that allowed NMSU to close the much further. But Auburn made an almost literal avalanche of mistakes. It was super uncomfortable to watch, and they're extremely lucky after giving up that wide open look at the buzzer.

And also, was the NMSU player crazy when he passed up a wide open layup for the tie to kick it outside for the three? And how crazy that it nearly worked out when that guy got fouled?!?

I couldn't believe it. Not often you get to completely switch sides and say "What are you doing?!?!" to players on opposing teams in the course of two seconds.

That dude who was a 78 percent shooter and only made 1 of 3 to end that game... brutal. Like the fella said, "Make your free throws, kids."

I thought Pearl was going to stroke out at the end of that game when Auburn turned it over twice and NM St hit the 3’s. He puffed up like a blowfish.

A game nobody wanted to win.

Feel very bad for the kid who missed 2 of 3 FT's at the end of the game...he will NEVER forget that as long as he lives. The last one was a nice stroke...just bad luck that it rimmed out.
