There was a lot of comparisons made on draft day, and Eli got the one season head start. Who is the better NFL quarterback right now?

Phillip Rivers or Eli Manning?

I'm not sure it's really fair to compare the two right now. Eli has led his team to a division title and playoff birth already, but Rivers hasn't had a full season yet. It is obvious that Rivers is having the better year right now...but I think since Eli has accomplished more already you can't say that Rivers is better. I'm not sure that you can say Eli is that far ahead of Rivers either...

Phillip has a better cast, for sure...but he makes much better decisions and is more consistent.

Rivers makes better decisions and he seems to really fit into San Diego Offense.

Phillip doesn't really have a better cast all around. Before Toomer's injury the Giants had a better group of WR/TE's

Also, how can you say Rivers has been more consistent? He has started 10 games.

In Eli's first year of starting, his first 10 game he had 2320 yards, 18 TD's, 9 INTS.

In Rivers first year of starting, his first 10 games he has 2307 yards, 15 TD's, 5 INTS.

Only real advantage Rivers has over his first 10 games as a starter compared to Eli's is completion percentage.

I'm not saying eli has proven he's better. I'm saying neither really stick out right now as the better QB. Give them a few years...

BTW, I did vote for Eli though lol...

Good points... :thumb:

I will add that Rivers completion percentages are more impressive... do not believe me, other than Antonio Gates (and without looking it up), who are Chargers #1 and #2 receivers.

I guess for RBs, you have to say Rivers has a better weapon in Tomlinson, Neal, and Turner... but, by the slimmest of margins. Both RBs corps are ballin.

LT would make a lot of QB's jobs easier, with that said I still voted for Rivers.

Hands down, Rivers.

...

I'll give you WR's but not TE...Gates is better than Shockey.

I said combined WR and TE's.
