I would not put it past that defense. It would have been one of the top 5 Super Bowl's of all time.

I disagree. I am not sure that Ravens team gives 21 points up to any team in the NFL history. Even the Chargers teams of the 80's.

The Niner team with Young, Sanders, Norton was the best team I could think of. They had no answer for Young because he was a pocket passer who could run. Their defense was great too. Maybe not 21 points, but the Ravens wouldn't have scored unless it had been on defense or special teams.

Did you see them both play? Emmitt was good, but ran behind a GREAT line. Barry Sanders was INCREDIBLE on a football field. I think he's WAY better than the all time yards leader.

 

I agree it's hard to determine who's the best ever unless you break it into positions.

Are you agreeing that Walter Payton was the best? I do believe that both Barry and Emmitt including Jim were great great runners but I still give the nod to Walter. Along with you I feel as if Barry had played for Dallas and ran behind their line he would have probably stayed a little longer in Football. As far as seeing them, I seen all except "Red" play. You would have to read the stories about him to see how football the game was shaped by him. In his day he was the ticket to see. As for Paul, what a "Football Player" I believe that there will never be another Hisman trophy winner on a team with a losing record. IMO all were great but if you were asking for one I shorten it two.

This is one "older" guy who remembers him very well.

I've never really believed in the "best player ever" theory. I believe Rice is ONE of the best football players to have played, but it's hard to say anybody is the absolute best no matter what the sport.

 

But, since I don't want to be a wet blanket, I'll play along and say Jim Zorn is the best player in football history.
