March 11, 20197 yr If we're taking the representations of football as played in each of these on their own terms, then it's West Canaan by a mile. I watched part of this recently and they've got those kids flying all over the field like every kid is a lab-grown super athlete. They've got a ball carrier dragging six dudes for ten yards, linebackers diving over the offensive line to make plays, and touchdown dances that would win Americas Best Dance Crew. Football in Varsity Blues is the team of alien-infected superhumans in The Faculty mixed with angry Forrest Whitaker in Fast Times at Ridgemont High.
