8th Region Week 8 Review - Collins Stays at #1

Featured Replies

Fairly certain the semifinals and finals on the weekend this year. Look for even larger crowds, especially on Friday when there are four schools playing.

That is great news. A weeknight trip to Henry County will be nice for everyone.

The boys Sweet 16 is first this year. So the Region should be a Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday format.

Any pictures of the Henry County gym?

I only found two which is odd for a 60 year old gymnasium. This the most current, they used to have a square scoreboard hanging at mid court.

Apparently the Spencer County vs Gallatin County game was cancelled. I heard that Gallatin County said they had some kind of flu breakout at their school and wouldn't be coming to Spencer County for the game? I saw they just played another game. Kind of confused as to why they wouldn't come to Spencer County. Anyway, Spencer picked up Bardstown for tonights game. I don't think Gallatin is rescheduling to play Spencer either.

Are you insinuating that a school was scared to play Spencer? Because that’s an entirely new level of conspiracy theory. And incredibly comical.

I can’t speak specifically for Gallatin, but the flu outbreak is real in that area. They’re not the only community dealing with it.

No sir I am not. But I would like to see it rescheduled.

Gallatin plays Collins, Anderson, Shelby, Simon, Holmes, Oldham, Grant, South Oldham and Walton Verona every year. Yes, I believe they are afraid of Spencer. Wow, what a take. They aren't allowed to practice or play until Monday. My guess is the trauma of potentially playing Spencer has infected the entire community.

Give Lloyd some credit. They are afraid to play them Saturday. I understand why, they have a better record than Spencer.

Geez, some of you all are testy. I was just looking forward to watching Gallatin vs Spencer and was a little disappointed. I just figured it could get worked out. I think every team deals with illness. If a player is sick they don't play or play sick. Spencer had some sick players that played against Walton Verona. No big deal. Hopefully it will be rescheduled. As far as records Johnson Q-one of those teams has played probably the toughest schedule in the region so I wouldn't be talking about records.

This isn't simply illness. It is highly contagious. Several school districts have had to cancel school. If multiple players have it, they can be passing it on to others before they are even aware that they are sick.

Kudos to Gallatin County for being proactive and attempting to prevent the continuance of spreading the germs.
