A great quote by Kitchens from the article above:

“I like it here and I like it here a lot, and everybody around here knows that I like it here,’’ said Kitchens, who started out as the running backs coach under Jackson and Haley. “I love the town of Cleveland. Cleveland and I get along well.

“I didn’t have a starting point in this league. I didn’t have a dad as a head coach. I grew up the son of a tire maker at Goodyear Tire and Rubber plant in Gadsden, Alabama. Benjamin E. Mays said ‘those who start behind in the game of life must run faster to catch up,’ and I feel like I’ve been running fast my whole life. And that’s the way it’s going to continue, so whether it’s here or what, I’m just here to do a job right now, this week and this year.’’

Quick up the ladder for Kitchens, but that seems to be the way in today's world.

Really hoping Williams ends up in Cincy now since the Browns cut all ties to him.

Williams as Bengals head coach would certainly put a lot of drama on the field. Williams would have bounties on Baker Mayfield and Mayfield would be staring down Williams every time he makes a nice throw.

Actually sounds fun. The only problem is Baker seems like that kind of competitor that would play right into this and be completely lights out every time he plays the Bengals lol.

I hate to be this guy, but Baker is going to play lights out against the Bengals no matter who the coach is.

Apparently he and Stefanski the OC for the Vikings were the two finalist. Stefanski was the guy I said I wanted the Bengals to get as the Head Coach even before they fired Marvin. So I hope the Bengals may reach out to interview him now.

This was an interesting hire by the Browns. It honestly was very Bengals like. The Bengals always seem to make decisions and not for the better based off of how a season ends. If they end it well they keep coaches, promote coaches, etc. thinking it is the beginning of something. Well I am hoping the Browns have similar results and it back fires like it always did the Bengals. The Browns were in great position and an attractive job. Instead they are giving it to the guy who did well at the end of the season, thinking it is the beginning of something. Maybe it will be, it will be interesting to see how it plays out.

Williams has always been a 3/4 guy I believe. I often wonder how the Bengals would do if they switched to the 3/4. I wouldn't mind Williams as the DC at all. Hey if the Bengals hire Hue, he could just get almost his same Brown staff back together again like Arians did for the Bucs lol.

Stefanski is now officially named the offensive coordinator for the Vikings for next year. That doesn't prevent him from being hired as a head coach by the Bengals. However, I have not heard of the Bengals having any interest in him.

Me either and I am assuming they don't, or else they probably would have reached out by now. However, he was one at the beginning I was wanting. Now Todd Monken is the one I want based off who has interviewed so far.

Who all did the Browns interview for this job?

This is the list of coaches interviewed by the Browns for the HC as I know it. Some were interviewed twice:

1. Gregg Williams -- Browns DC/interim HC

2. Kevin Stefanski -- Vikings interim OC

3. Mike McCarthy -- fired HC of Packers and Super Bowl Champ

4. Brian Flores -- Patriots Defensive play caller

5. Matt Eberflus -- Colts DC

6. Jim Caldwell -- last was HC of Lions in 2017

7. Dan Campbell -- Assistant HC with New Orleans. He was my front-runner

and last but not least...

8. Kenny Kitchens -- Browns interim OC, RB Coach.

Such a lazy hire from the Browns. This makes zero sense IMO.

See above. Lazy indeed!

I disagree. Have you seen the Browns' offense since Kitchens took over? I'm sure the development of Baker Mayfield was strongly taken into account during the coaching search. This may not be a sexy hire for the Browns but I think it's the right one.
