swamprat Posted January 9, 2019 Posted January 9, 2019 Bruce Arians was named head coach of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Tuesday evening. He had a heck of a run with Arizona and only managed 1 year of retirement. Arians is being promoted as the guy to work with Jamis Winston, but I thought Dirk Koetter was that guy. The Bucs led the league in passing yards and were 3rd in total yardage, this last season. However, the defense could not stop my grandson's flag football team. The Glazer's have their hands full trying to get ManU back to the top of the EPL. Wonder where they will get the money to help Arians? Bruce Arians Named Buccaneers New Head Coach
oldgrappler Posted January 9, 2019 Posted January 9, 2019 Bruce Arians was one of the first names mentioned for the Cleveland job. He said it was the one HC position he'd come out of retirement for. He also worked with Kitchens before and said he would be open to keeping him as OC. In an interview with NFL.com, Arians was asked about his coaching future and if a return to the sidelines was possible. "I would listen to the Browns," Arians said. "And only them." Arians also said he's not going to be a candidate for any other job. "I've always loved Cleveland," Arians said. "The fans, shoot, one of the best groups in the league and when I called their game this past year, I got that feeling about them." Asked if it's newly nurtured talent on their roster or the fans that make him want the job, Arians said, "Mostly the fans." Bruce Arians: Browns 'only' team I'd consider coaching - NFL.com Some thought he may come to Cleveland and coach for several years, all the while grooming Kitchens to take over as HC when he retired. Well, I guess he just wants to coach again. He's had some success in the NFL and may do so again for the Bucs. I'm glad Cleveland has blocked teams from hiring Kitchens as a staff person on another team.
TheDeuce Posted January 9, 2019 Posted January 9, 2019 Phoenix to Tampa is an acceptable move, I'd imagine.
oldgrappler Posted January 9, 2019 Posted January 9, 2019 Phoenix to Tampa is an acceptable move, I'd imagine. If you're retiring and want to play golf. :lol2:
TheDeuce Posted January 9, 2019 Posted January 9, 2019 If you're retiring and want to play golf. :lol2: I'm hoping a Louisville to Tampa move happens for me someday, while I'm still working, ha.
swamprat Posted January 9, 2019 Author Posted January 9, 2019 Phoenix to Tampa is an acceptable move, I'd imagine. It's worked for me for close to 37 years. I don't play golf and I am nowhere near retirement. Absolutely love the place.
theguru Posted January 10, 2019 Posted January 10, 2019 I believe Arians is a tremendous hire. I agree.

neilman1234 Posted January 10, 2019 Posted January 10, 2019 I love Bruce Arians but I really think that even he can't fix Jameis Winston.
