Covcath dominated the boards and 2nd chance points in this one. Green, Fleck and Thelen were great inside and NCC had no answer. Covcath guards did well handling the ball and orchestrating offense.

 

Jefferson for NCC was aggressive all night and had his first 20 point game for NCC. Howard (8) and Mullikin (9) combined for 17 points - they avg 37 together. I think Howard only shot 6 times. Frosh Iles had 3 points I think.

NCC was never in this game.

 

CCH had a balanced attack with 4 players in double digits:

 

Green - 15 and 8 boards

Fleek - 14 and 9 boards

Thelen - 12 and 10 boards

Disken - 12

 

Green is the 5th player to lead CCH in scoring. Playing team offense and intense defense is how they are going to win this year!

 

Jefferson was amazing and is probably one of the top 3 point guards in the 9th region.

Not to make this about me or anything, but for the record I was WAY off in the prediction thread. CovCath was just way too strong.

 

No matter if they've got the sure thing scorers or not, they're definitely efficient, and they get it done.

 

I still like NC's never say die feisty approach, but yeah, CovCath's on another level, and likely will only get better.

Salter and Mueller was out for NCC.

#4 Isaac Salter was not in uniform, so I'm not sure if he's presently recovering from an injury. He's a tall lanky guy who might've helped a little bit in offsetting the CovCath trees, and while he's a decent player, I doubt if he could've altered the game that much to matter.

 

As far a Mueller goes, I don't know his game enough to say.

I don't think that he was playing the injury card as I believe that he was just simply answering a question.

He was not playing the injury card. I asked a direct question because I know NOTHING about these two teams. In the prediction thread B-Ball-Fan was pretty confident about NCC and so I wondered if there had been significant injuries that could weaken a team.

 

B-Ball-Fan had indicated earlier that CovCath showed themselves to be very good in this game, so no one was trying to take anything away from CovCath in this win.

Balanced attack and scoring by the Blue Colonels. That's what they'll need going forward to be successful.

As of today, there is no Kramer listed on NCC’s roster on KHSAA.
