Southwestern 18 Boyle Co. 9

I think that you are correct about two things. Boyle got their hats handed to them I agree. And yes, we will all be in different classes next year.

Coach Smith put an excellent system in place, and Coach Pardue uses that same system. What you forget is that there were 7 Sophomores and a freshman on that Starting Defense tonight, that is not an excuse at all. A decision was made for the Boyle County Program, that they were as good if not better than some of the upperclassmen, and so they played, and played pretty well I might add. Competing, and Should have beat, 2 possible state champion teams (Danville, Mercer). The thing that stuck out to me tonight, was a Senior dominated SWP team that was physically stronger than our 15 and 16 year olds. But we still played hard.

The bad news, our Youth that played all year this year, are no longer Freshman and Sophomores. Playing in the atmospheres they did this year, and the type games-they have very valuable experience that made them grow up a little quicker. The 10th, 9th, 8th grade group could make noise for YEARS to come. This is in no way a knock at SWP, they handled their business and I wish them luck with Central. Just making a point that the dynasty isn't over, just on hold. And for those that think otherwise, watch out the next few years. Get back to work REBS.

Spoken with a lot of truth, the new district will see what a lot of people have seen for years!!!! Great great ball club that teams need to pattern their like because it works. Boyle Co. lost to Southwestern during the season 28-7 and even still a least 50% of the predictions were Boyle Co. winning last night. It wasn't ment to be last night because Southwestern needed to rise above things and the one and out in the playoffs and that monkey is done. Congrads to SW and Coach Anderson for getting it done last night. Had to stick to the game plan and it worked out for a big win. Boyle Co., Danville, Lincoln Co., Mercer Co., Southwestern, Pulaski Co., and Somerset. Great football being played in central Kentucky. Good luck guys for the ones still playing and for next season who aren't................LTW.

HOW BOUT THEM WARRIORS!!!!

enjoy it today.. go back to work tomorrow!

Let me say that I tip my hat to SW. They played a good clean and honest game and I think they will probably be making the trip to Louisville this year. To LTW and Cammondo - what a thrilled it was to spend some time with you last night. I think of you as my friends and I do hope that never stops.:thumb:

Before I go any further with this post, I would like to know what the rules are for people having air horns at a game. We have always had one and only use it after a touchdown but tonight one of the security guards, police (whatever he was) came over to our side and took an air horn away from a woman. Now if the rules (policy of the school) was that air horns are not allowed, I feel this person should have been told this and hopefully as an adult she would have been allowed to follow the rules. But I will have to admit that it really got to me that he took it away from her like a child. Anyone know the rules to this question.

I was so proud of all these kids. These seniors played this year under a cloud that most people will never understand. I've listen to people slap them down all year and to be quite honest, it broke my heart more than once to hear all of the negative talk about them. For these kids to have played after the last meeting with SW was a testimony to their love for the game and the love for their fellow team members (freshman and JV team). For those people who say that this senior team had no talent - for those people who have said that this senior didn't want the wins -for those of you who have had only negative things to say about these seniors all year long - I really wish you had know the whole story and then perhaps you wouldn't have been so free with your negative talk. These are kids. They are kids just like your kids and they played as hard as they could under some difficult situations and each of them should be proud of what the did this year.

The rest of this post will be written with a heavy heart. It is no secret to most of you that my nephew was a senior on this team. I remember when I first held him for the first time and the pride I felt in him was as strong as any feeling I'd ever had. Last night when I held him in my arms after the game, I will have to tell you that I have never been prouder of him as I was at that moment. The first time I kissed his face I was in wonder of how soft his face was. Last night when I tried to kiss is face, I ended up kissing his helmet and that's as it should have been. It hurt my heart to see how sad he was last night and to know that his time with Boyle football was over. As I told his father last night, football is a game and I think my nephew was a good player, but I do know for a fact that he is a good young man and a young man that this entire family is so very proud of. I thank each of you for letting an Aunt take the time to honor a nephew that she couldn't love anymore if she tried.

For the rest of the seniors, thank you so much for all you have given each of us for the last four years. Always hold your heads up high and please always remember your time together with your fellow seniors and know that you gave it your best shot and that is all any of us could ever ask of you. I wish each of you a life full of love, laughter and good health. May each of you go out into the world and be the very best you can be.

Congratulations to the Warriors.

Boyle seniors - Hold your head high. You did well to pull things together under difficult circumstances! Boyle will be back in the hunt next year.

Your fans are proud of you #75! :thumb:

RebelK, I am sure it has been a difficult year and it is sad to see your Seniors play their last game. Those guys should be proud and hold their heads up.

Southwestern has FINALLY got that second round jinx off it's back. I hope we hear no more about it. This team has been really great to watch this year. Different players stepping up when they needed to, alot of talent all around, persevering through injuries and other turmoil.

Hats off to the coaching staff. A couple of weeks ago Coach Lewis had a death in his immediate family and this week Coach A's father-in-law was hospitalized and had by-pass surgery.

This is a team that could have come apart, but didn't. Kudos to the Senior leadership, all the players and all the coaching staff!

You say its not an excuse and then you use an excuse to say they arent as strong. I agree they are better than some seniors but it was evident that SW was attacking some of our players, ie one cornerback and the middle linebackers, who were both sophmores. Then you throw the ball to a freshman on 4th and 1 with your season on the line and he drops the ball. They sure are more talented but that doesnt mean they play with more heart and desire then others.

As far as the system goes, is it really chuck smith's system anymore? Did the system leave with Chuck Smith 2 years ago? These are honest questions that i dont know the answer to so maybe someone else does because our "down" years have been the 2 years since Smith's departure. Is it just that the talent has been so low that even Smith couldnt have won with this team? All i know next year is that we will bounce back, we will do better, but we still need to congratulate the seniors for what they have contributed to the program.

Per Lexington Herald Smart did rush for 300 yards last night from the FB position! That is a great accomplishment against a team the caliber of Boyle Co in the playoffs from a fullback! I know he credits his OL and the skill guys around him:)

My sincerest best wishes to you BC Seniors in all your future endeavors! You carried more weight on your shoulders this year than you should have. You showed that you had the heart to do your best. Hold your heads high and walk with pride... Rebel Pride!

Congratulations to PSW! You are now the representatives of our district. There are some tough games ahead but you are coming together at the right time. TAKE IT TO THE CARPET!

:thumb: :thumb: More weight than young men should have to carry - and what an example they are to those who will come after them and hopefully those who come after them won't have such a load.

Congratulation to PSW, you earned the W tonight. What a ballgame. I am very proud of the Rebel seniors, and the entire team. I am already looking forward to next year and seeing all these young guys develope. It was a tough year for us, but the Rebels will be a contender for the Region again next year, and maybe "State".

If anyone from the Boyle Co. Athletici Department or Board of Education reads this thread, you are officially on notice. We will be having our first home game of "07" in about 275 days, please make sure our field is ready. Do whatever it takes.

May I say Amen to that.:thumb:

From your mouth to their ears......may they hear your warning. As I ask one of the higher - higher - uppers before our first home game - how could you have let this happen. There is no excuse - in my book - that the field wasn't ready for the first official game. Let's vote in a "watch to make sure the field is ready for next year" committee:D

Sounds good to me RebelK. Maybe we could start with a few emails as an initial reminder, and then check for any progress in the spring. Do you know any email addresses?

Any other Rebel fans wish to join this illustrious committee?

Congrats to the Warriors on a big win. Don't Hang your heads Rebels you fought the good fight.
