Hazard 15 Pikeville 14

Sounds like maybe some" Burn Out" happened. This 6 and sometimes 7 days a week practice, films, weights will make it no fun for the kids.

You will not beat Beechwood and NewCath deep in the playoffs unless you dedicate that much time. They do. I watched film last year of Pikeville vs. Ncc. Pikeville looked talented, but physically weak. I don't see anything wrong with spending extra time to improve your football team in these areas. There is no burn out in championship teams. They all spend that kind of time, some a lot more than others.

I agree 100% and to their credit, Pikeville fixed that problem. They worked extremely hard and were much stronger and in better shape this season. People will be scratching their head about how they lost to a team that they had beaten 42-6 three weeks before and hadn't beat a team with a WINNING RECORD, for a long time...

IMHO, Pikeville is an offensive coordinator shy of having one of the top coaching staffs in the state, in any class...and to make myself clear, I don't mean get rid of anyone, just add a top-notch OC.

I would love to see the head coach of the 1998 Pikeville team be offensive coordinator of this team...I know it will never happen but Pikeville would win Region titles every year like they used to with him on the sideline as offensive coordinator with the rest of this staff.

John Chapman...Assistant coach at Breathitt County...I know it will not happen but his teams were fun to watch at Pikeville and the offense he ran put a lot of points on the scoreboard.

I'm with you 100% on this one. It's already cost Pikeville at least 1 state championship not having him (1999), probably more. I agree they won't get him (unless Keno is gone), but if they can get someone of his caliber, Pikeville will not only win the region every year, but be in the hunt for the state title every year as well...

It sounds like a bunch of crying and complaining and making of excuses that "PIKEVILLE or THE "VILLE" as I read about ALL last week got BEAT by A very good team , hungry and well prepared game plan of the BULLDOGS. When the "ville" is winning everything is great with the world-come on these are kids playing the game and they (hazard) had something to prove after not showing up to play 3 wks. ago.So I'm tired of hearing about how Pikeville was overlooking the DAWGS or how the coach didn't call the right plays--the fact of the matter is the DAWGS won and are heading to Somerset next wk. and the "ville" is staying home. The Pikeville kids played hard and they wanted to win also, but Hazard wanted it more that nite.Hazard could also question the coaches use of timeouts, and I have to admit I was one of those people in the stands doing just that, but I'm not the one with the teaching degree and coaching skills standing on the sidelines making those critical calls.Congats to the Hazard Dawgs players coaches, fans, families and congats to the Pikeville players, coaches and fans for a great season as well..LET'S ALL TRY TO REMEMBER THIS IS JUST A GAME AND THOSE PLAYERS OUT THERE ARE SOMEONES KIDS AND THAT THESE KIDS ARE OUR FUTURE.

Hazard didn't want it more, especially when Pikeville scored an easy TD with a couple minutes left to ice the game and a penalty away from the play brought it back and gave Hazard new life. Hats off to Hazard, but call it what it is, Paintsville self-destructed after dominating Hazard for 3 3/4 quarters and Pikeville gave it away also...You must not remember the thrashing Pikeville gave Hazard 3 weeks ago 42-6. The fact is, Hazard isn't a very good team...they hadn't beat a team with a winning record all year and got beat 34-0, 63-14 and 42-6 by the 3 teams they faced with winning records before the Pikeville fiasco. Think what you want, Pikeville should beat Hazard by 4 TDs every time they play. Pikeville now 20-4 against Hazard overall and have now lost to them ONCE at home. If you think this post is sour grapes, it is to an extent, but Hazard is not a good team...Come look at this post again Friday night. BTW, Pikeville football fans and boosters will not tolerate losing to Hazard I assure you...

WHO WON - THE BETTER TEAM THATS WHO!! AND YES IT CONT. TO SOUND LIKE SOUR GRAPES- IT DOESN'T MATTER WHO WON THE PREVIOUS GAMES ALL THAT MATTERS IS THE HERE AND NOW JUST TRY AND ACCEPT IT AND STOP HIDING BEHIND EXCUSES AND GIVE THE DAWGS THEIR MUCH NEEDED RESPECT FOR COMING IN AND BEATING your panthers on their home field, its not the best 3out of 5 its who has the highest score when the WHISTLE BLOWS AND THE "FAT LADY SINGS" !! YOU CAN TALK ABOUT ALL THE WINS IN THE PAST BUT IT DON'T GET YOU TO SOMERSET, DOES IT?

I think your caps lock is stuck.:D

^^Good luck to the Bulldogs, and be sure to come back to my post Friday. Hopefully your Caps Lock button will be fixed by then...:creepy:

If these two teams played 10 times I would pick Pikeville by 21+ in 9 of those games. Unfortunately for the Panthers they picked the wrong time to play that "one" out of ten game.

They shouldnt have to tolerate a totally unacceptable loss like this. Too much talent and tradition in that program to lose to a team that should have been preparing for the bus ride home at halftime.

From what I was told, that is very short in coming.

Chapman? Really?

I would have thought Panther fans were happy to see him go after the fiasco that went on while he was there.

Didn't he degrade a kid so severely it cost him his job?
