Cashen has a bruised ankle...he's fine and I believe sander is ok...i'm not sure about light.

I tend to be sympathetic to the Redhounds, but they're gonna get whooped next week, whether these guys are healthy or not. The soft district will catch up with Corbin yet again.

Nothing against Russell, but I hope I'm wrong.

Russells district is pretty much as soft as Corbins. And I believe they have 6 soft teams in their district + Russell. Corbins nondistrict schedule should have them prepared. I believe we'll step it up a notch next week. I look for a good game.......

Redhounds vs Reddevils ... has a nice ring to it.

Should be a good game.

Corbin has not been "whooped" in a playoff game since the championship game in 2002, so when exactly was the last time their soft district schedule caught up with them?

If it happens, the only reason will be because the opponent(Russell this week)would have been the better team. I expect a close game myself as Corbin usually gets prepared for these type games early in the season by playing teams that expose weaknesses that can be worked on over the remainder of the season.

Your right Hounds play better against better teams for example Bell or Rock lex ch. I think they have a chance but some kids will have to step up and shine. Russell has a nice team.

There haven't been a few teams in recent years you felt should have gotten further than they did? My point is that in the three weeks of loading up against softies, Corbin can lose some of their edge they gained while going through the meat-grinder of their non-district schedule.

Please show me where I've ever said anything nasty or hateful about Corbin. Any comments I make are honest observations. I have no axe to grind with Corbin.

The last time Corbin played a decent team was a month and a half ago. You don't lose a little bit of the edge in that time?

Like I said, I hope I'm wrong, but I think Russell has too much for Corbin to deal with and should win handily.

wouldn't say they loose an edge, it didn't happen in 02, after a 2-3 start they came out and one 9 in a row 4 of whom were district the rest were top notch ball teams. With the rocky start it builds alot of confidence that had been lost.

Congrats Corbin Redhounds! I'm looking forward to your visit to Henry R. Evans Stadium. What kind of offense will my Devils see out of Corbin? You guys will no doubt get a healthy portion of the good ole-fashion Wing-T from Russell, not to mention a dose of passing just to keep things in balance. We too have suffered from a non-challenging district schedule this year as our only real competition came from the loss in triple OT in a non-district game with Ashland. Weather permitting, I think you find our facility and accommodations most inviting. Have a safe trip! :thumb:

Disagree with you there...but then again...

Don't underestimate the redpups. If Chasen is health, we have a chance to keep it close. We must run the ball and keep it away from Russell or we will have a long, long way home friday night.

You are exactly right...weak competition will cause a team to lose their edge. One begins to evaluate his performance against the level of competition instead of the potential. In this years case I think it built confidence, but in some years past it caused teams to play at a somewhat lower level. That will change next year in a big way!!!

Agreed. Getting into a better district will do wonders for Corbin w/re to advancement in the playoffs. Playing tougher competition toward the end of the season will get them peaking at just the right time and the memories of tough struggles will be fresh and not two months old.

I agree in principle with what you are saying, but I just don't think that Corbin has been knocked out of the playoffs by a team that was not equal to or better than the Hounds since they lost to Larue Co. in the 2001 playoffs. Maybe I'm forgetting one or maybe there is a game that someone else feels differently about.
