Congrats to the Rock and to the coaches for a game well played and for winning the district championship. Personally I thought the boy was in there for the touchdown but I guess the refs thought different but that is my IMO anyway.

The only thing that bothered me tonight was the poor sportsmanship showed by some of the players. There was a lot of talking. Bell got an unsportsnamlike penalty that uncalled for and not needed. Also Rock on their 1st sack the defender taunted Nelson really heavily. Then in the 4th quarter they did it again and the ref threw the flag. Theres no reason for either team to act that way.

What about the poor sportsmanship shown by Bell's Coach? I thought at times he acted pretty bad. Jumping up and down, running down the sideline at least twice when he didn't get a PI call that he thought he should have. I've never seen a grown man jump as high as he did.

It was not a catch. He was bobbling the ball when he stepped out of the back of the end zone. I was right there too and the ref did have a good angle and made the right call. The ball was in his hands, but he he was bobbling it and and never had control until it was too late.

I was right there as well, and I thought it was a catch. To me, it appeared he bobbled it at first, then controlled it with one hand, and got 1 foot in the back of the endzone. Didn't really matter though. The way that Rock's defense totally shut down Bell, all they needed was that first score.

Also, why in the world UL would pull Durham's scholly is beyond me. A guy that big played basically every snap and is a handful. Hes a great football player.

Durham was impressive last night. He is huge, he moves well, and he never comes off the field.

Hopefully UK can steal him.

I was going to sit back and be quiet until now. Bell truly lost to a bigger, stronger team. The plays that you are referring to was one of the two most blatant no-calls on pass interference I have ever seen on any level. It happened right in front of me. The player was hit and driven out of the path of the ball and the ball sailed by where he used to be! Slusher has a 38 in vertical leap....rivaled only by Dudley's. This was on a critical play. Several times flags were picked up and waved off when Rock recovers fumble....would like to see the penalty stats? Referees did not lose the game...but Rock did not need that kind of help...takes it away from the players. Hilton is usually pretty calm when it comes to officiating, but that no-call happened right in front of him. You guys are worrying about whether or not it was a catch...a judgement call...this one was unbelievable..watch the films and check it out before you criticize the second most winning coach in Kentucky history.

Coach Hilton had a right to be upset. It did not decide a game, but when a WR goes across the middle and gets hit definitly before the ball gets there then the flag has to be thrown. It was a horrible no-call. Its tough when a WR goes across the middle, he makes a catch and usually has to brace hiself quickly for a big hit, when he gets hit before the ball gets there the WR is completely vulnerable.

Getting onto referees is not nearly as bad as taunting a player on the ground after the tackle pointing to his face.

Like I said, it was both teams and Im not trying to single out Rockastle. Bell was guilty too.

First of all the so called penalty on the fumble was not a penalty but the ref pulling the flag to mark the spot instead of his bean bag. Secondly I don't care how many games you win or lose, the refs should not tolerate any coach throwing a temper tantrum. The so called pass interference is also a judgement call. Rock came out and punched Bell square in the nose on the opening drive and the best team won in a smash mouthed football game. The Rock got no help from the refs. Should have taken your own advice in your opening statement.

I agree with you that both sides seem to do this when they play. The emotions are crazy for a bunch of 17 year old kids. I am also not saying that Hilton did not have a right to be upset, IMO it was a little excessive.

One thing that makes the Bell fans feel better about the game is that Bell only started 5 seniors and 1 senior, Justin Dozier was hurt the 1st drive of the game, and was not able to continue even though they tried. It makes everyone feel better that there were more sophomores on the field than seniors.

Also, Rock, from what I understand started 9 seniors on offense and Im not sure about the defense. Rock was an older and stronger team and it showed.

Also, why in the world UL would pull Durham's scholly is beyond me. A guy that big played basically every snap and is a handful. Hes a great football player.

Rock offense started 2 sophmores, 1 junior, and 8 seniors. Defense started 3 sophmores, 2 juniors, and 6 seniors.

2 other sophmores saw a lot of playing time, plus 4 other juniors.

Rock does lose the bulk of the team. That is the way it is every year.

The worse losses will be on the LOS.

He might have taken the Louisville slight personally! I'm sure Brad Durham felt he had something to prove last night.

This happened twice and the reason for the flags being waived off were because it was meant to mark the ball, it was thrown instead of the bean bag. That was explained. Penalty yards are as follows. I think you will eb surprised.

Rock 7-78 yards

Bell 2-20 yards

The one big pass play for Bell came when Nelson crossed the line LOS by a yard and a half, clearly seen on film. There was absolutely no face mask, SPORTS OVERTIME clearly shows that by Brian Milam's awesome up-close footage.

Log Mountain Boy, I agree emotions were high and there were some unsportsmanlike penalties called, however, I don't think it was directed at Nelson personally, the kid in question is a 10th grader and absolutely leveled the QB, he was just hyped up. The same goes for the Bell County player, whatever he said I'm sure was just out of frustration and wasn't directed towards anyone personally. This game had these kids built up all week from both teams and they felt the pressure to win.

Let me ask you something is this football or golf??? Anyway I am sure the kid didn't mean anything by it just like 3wishes said all the kids were hyped up to play and emotions do get high because both sides wanted to win!!!!! What else do you expect it is just FOOTBALL!!!!!!!:dancingpa :dancingpa

Several people have said they thought he was not past the line of scrimmage. I honestly do not know. And it obviously had no barring on the outcome of the game. The only play of the night I was really upset over was the pass over the middle when the defender clearly got there before the ball was there. And like I said, it did not effect the outcome of the game.

As for the actions by the players after the sack, there was twice when the defenders were down in the QB's face, one time he pointed and said something. Hey like I said, we as adults can make excuses if we want to, but it was poor sportsmanship both ways.

Good luck to Rockastle, I will be pulling for them next week. I seen Durham at the UK game today, I congratulated him on his great game last night.

I've been at most of the games this year and I think it might have been his best game this year. He had at least 2 sacks and several hurries. Not to mention a great job blocking.
