Smallhoops Posted December 8, 2018 Author Posted December 8, 2018 Central led throughout and had a 60-39 lead after 3 quarters, but Male fought back and got within 5 with a couple minutes left. Male's Tyren Moore fouled out with 1:21 left on an offensive foul with Male still down 5, and that was the end of it. Good atmosphere, with student sections of both schools quite boisterous. Between the scoreboard going out multiple times and frequent fouling, the fourth quarter lasted about an hour.
Chaklet9 Posted December 8, 2018 Posted December 8, 2018 All I have to say is it would have been a great game however with Male having such a height advantage over the Yellow Jackets( a team with point guards only) , the Bulldogs couldn't catch a break from the refs with the fouls. How do 5 people on one team foul out of a game, that's 25 fouls right there( smh). That's obvious there was a problem. The score board wasn't the only reason in the delay of the game, the refs where definitely whistle happy. The Bulldogs didn't have a chance, they sneeze and there's a foul. These refs gotta get better out here

These refs gotta get better out here I don’t know about this game, but one team can certainly be worthy of more fouls than the other. As long as there is consistency in the calling for both teams, fouls could be 50-0 and be accurate.
Smallhoops Posted December 8, 2018 Author Posted December 8, 2018 There were definitely a lot of fouls called. Male was frustrated with the officiating throughout the game.

They should have adjusted to how the refs were calling the game, even if they didn't agree with how it was being called. Five players fouling out seems like a failure to adapt to the game by Male.
HoopJunkie Posted December 8, 2018 Posted December 8, 2018 Maybe Bibby coached circles around Haworth. Welcome to Louisville coach.
Tigerpride94 Posted December 8, 2018 Posted December 8, 2018 Surprised by this score. I could see where if Central is quicker, they might draw more fouls. I don’t discount there could be bad officiating. One bad game doesn’t make a season. Male will have plenty of opportunities to prove this was an anomaly.
Cardsrule1972 Posted December 8, 2018 Posted December 8, 2018 Don't know about this game but if you got a lineup of speedy guards playing a big team with size I could see a foul disparity for sure.
Chaklet9 Posted December 8, 2018 Posted December 8, 2018 Nah I don't agree with that. It was obvious @TheDeuce
TheDeuce Posted December 8, 2018 Posted December 8, 2018 Nah I don't agree with that. It was obvious @TheDeuce You don’t agree with adjusting to how a game is being called? That’s just poor gamesmanship then.
BigVMan23 Posted December 8, 2018 Posted December 8, 2018 Got behind big and made a comeback against a smaller, quicker team? Yep I can see that leading to a big team fouls difference, scrapping hard trying to get back in the game...easy to figure that would be the case.
