Not sure Highlands is the clear favorite. IHM can play with them if the Miller girl is hitting her shots and playing for them instead of Holy Cross. They only beat TFMS this year by 1 and 2 points, with both winning shots coming in the closing seconds. Pius beat them last week.

 

This division is a toss up between Highlands, Ockerman, TFMS, Camp Ernst, and Pius. It depends on which team shows up for each, and if the officials are letting them play or not.

Not that I'm aware of. They've had 2, somewhat, close games against Conner and I can't recall the other off the top of my head.

Officiating is so inconsistent, and teams were informed they’ll keep calling each round tighter and tighter. Why change? It’s hard enough to understand what is and isn’t a foul. Only thing consistent in the games tonight was if you blocked a girl from behind, regardless if it was all ball and no body contact at all, it was getting called.

 

And I feel for Conner’s coach. Her game plan kept Conner in the game tonight. They lost it in the 4th due to foul trouble, and parents were just ripping her apart.

Gray 7th grade just beat Holmes by 3 to punch their ticket to finals on Saturday. I believe Holmes was undefeated. Exciting game..Gray had big lead and held on against furious Holmes comeback. Game was marred by REALLY bad refereeing and a Holmes parent causing a scene and being ejected with about 2 minutes left. Gray will play winner of Highlands and Bally.

Anyone know of IHM 8th graders playing down? I heard one freshman and one varsity player played down in the tourney.

This would be against Nkmsaa rules.

Officials have been much worse than that all year, from what I’ve heard the Holmes parents weren’t nearly as bad as normal.

They were. My understanding that playing freshman ball is OK. However, I’ve heard playing JV or Varsity is against the rules but I don’t know. They have a player rostered on the JV team at Holy Cross that is currently playing for them in this tournament.

There have been only 2 gyms I’ve been in all season with a police officer present for the games, and that was Holmes and Tichenor.

Maybe it’s a Boone Co schools thing.

Were you expecting cheap, hard fouls? Or playing without class? Their fans were chanting 20-0 or something all game.
