Please, while UL does deserve to play in the NC (as do some 1 loss teams IMO) Forde is a homer and it often shows. Hes comparing UL's situation to vicious political attack. Ive heard a lot of people argue both sides with legitimate points. Hes really being over-dramatic here.

I forget who it was but the SEC has like 1 win over another BCS conference outside of conference this year.

 

And that was Vandy over Duke, hardly screams best conference in the country.

 

Actually the SEC is 6-6 against the other BCS conferences and 35-7 against all non conference competition and 5 of those losses came from Vandy(1), Miss St(1), UK(1) and Ole Miss(2)...the other was USC beating Arkansas....the so called powers(Florida,Tenn,Ga,Aub,LSU) are a combined 17-0 and 4-0 against BCS schools...thats not too shabby if you ask me...

Every year there are teams that do not get the respect that they deserve. In UL and Rutgers situation it seems to be happening again this year. No one argues these are not good teams. I believe that in a tougher conference Big10/11, SEC or even PAC 10 they would still be very good teams just not undefeated teams as is currently the case. Comparing scores from common opponents is an assinine way to compare to teams if you know anything at all about football. The issue isn't is the SEC down so you can downgrade those teams with 1 loss. The issue is does anyone really think UL, WV or Rutgers would be undefeated in one of the power conferences this late in the year. NO WAY, while not great every team is able to play and capable of beating each other at some point in the year. You have to come out full bore every week or you can get yours handed to you.

Congats to UL on a great season and may it continue, but don't think for one minute that you would definately be in the same position if you were in a conf with more than 1 or 2 capable teams. Go play Texas, A&M, Oklahoma and Nebraska every year and see how many times you would be undefeated or Auburn, LSU, Florida, UT, and UGA. IT JUST WOULD NOT HAPPEN.:argue:

What about Louisville has shown you that they could NOT play game in game out with these teams. Fact is that there have only been two blow out against Louisville in the last few years and one of those directly follow the Petrino Auburn fiasco and the other was the stunner by USF. Niether of these teams would be considered "capable" (a horrible term IMO) by the haters. Against every "capable" team Louisville has played well and made a game out of it.

Bottomline is a win is a win however it occurs and luck plays a part in every single college football game that has ever been played.

You're right...but U of L has certainly not been the forunate one in the TO department being that they are -1 this year. In the only game, that I know of, that Florida did not win the TO battle, they got beat by double digits. Pretty telling to me.

I am simply getting sick of the WHAT'if's with U of L in the SEC....in this year's case, they just might be undefeated...if they were in the SEC, maybe they don't open with UK...then Bush wouldn't be hurt...you know they wouldn't be playing Miami, because the SEC doesn't schedule OOC that way, so against Louisiana-Monroe, Buffalo, etc...I am quite sure Brohm wouldn't have gotten hurt. That way they keep firing at all cylinders, don't stagnate....I think at worst U of L, in the SEC, would have one loss, and that would be LSU, depending on where it was played....

 

 

Since that's all speculation and fantasy...the rules are what they are, you are supposed to go out and beat everyone in front of you, so far U of L has done that, and so will either OSU or Michigan...they will play in the title game, to say they don't deserve it, is also speculation....if the powers that be don't like it now, they are more than welcome to change it post-season, not while in session.

So an equal non-conference schedule and a much stronger conference schedule really shows how much tougher it is for Florida than it is for Louisville.

How is Florida's conference schedule equal? The manner with which Louisville beat their common opponent, and the fact that they still are undefeated is enough to me to keep them in the game. You should be undefeated, in the BCS....after tonight there will be 3, on the 18th, 2.....there's your matchup...everyone else lost in the their 12 week playoff.

Keep in mind I think that it is OK to hate Louisville, and I realize that it will effect some of your opinions, or you want to be proud for the mighty SEC...that's cool...it didn't help an UNDEFEATED Auburn team two years, ago, it certainly won't help a one loss team, that wins TO battles.

I'm not saying they could not play with these teams, IMO it is a lot harder to play week in and week out against traditional strong competition. Why do you think Notre Dame has continued to stay out of a conference, they play maybe two really good teams a year and a handfull of cupcakes. It's the same in basketball, a team that you play everyonce in a while may be more in awe of you than conference teams that you see every year. UL has had a great year and I see nothing negative about the team or any glaring weakness I just think IMO they would be another one loss team if they played in any of the BIG 4 football Conf.
