Exactly. All 12 games don't matter for every team. Only the ones who aren't "name brand."

They do matter just not for a championship. What is the purpose of a championship in your opinion?

For 2 people who disagree about college football a lot we agree 100% on this.

I don't get the desire to give more teams a shot at the title. There's not a need. Regardless of how many teams are put in the playoff each year, I could name you a group of 6 or so teams before the start of each year and guarantee the Champion would come from that group. Same as any other sport. There's maybe 10 teams that have a shot in CBB each year. NFL, MLB, NBA, it's probably 4-5. Why should college football be different?

I don't think we should extend it very far, but it makes zero sense to have a playoff that doesn't even allow all of the P5 champions. I can't be convinced that all five conference winners shouldn't be included. There is no logic behind it.

Pretty much. I'm probably one of the few that thought the BCS did a pretty good job identifying the two best. I'm good with 4 and to make my plan above work I'd be ok with 6.

It seems to me the defense has a fighting chance in college football, especially in the passing game. Not a fan of so many rules against the defense in the NFL.
