November 6, 20187 yr No it won’t. The best players will still go to the same schools. Alabama, Ohio State, Georgia, Clemson, Michigan, etc. will always get the best players. If you want to level the playing field then Nick Saban needs to retire because until he does it will remain how it is. You may have a Clemson or an Ohio State challenge Bama or even beat Bama occasionally, but as long as Saban is there none of this really matters. I am out, we have to agree to disagree.
November 6, 20187 yr I don't think we should extend it very far, but it makes zero sense to have a playoff that doesn't even allow all of the P5 champions. I can't be convinced that all five conference winners shouldn't be included. There is no logic behind it. There is when the best team in the PAC had 3 losses and a 1 loss top 5 ranked team on another conference has to stay home. Some conferences are just worse than others...the PAC hasn't really had a legit challenger on a yearly basis since Reggie Bush left SC. Expand to 6 teams or even 8, but pick the best...no auto qualifiers. That's just my opinion.

Yes, if they lost 3 games I can't see putting them in over a 1 loss Ohio St that was the runner-up in the B1G to Wisconsin. At some point, if losses pile up they have to eliminate the teams losing.
November 6, 20187 yr People wring their hands every year during the season wanting to "Fix" college football, yet the playoff committee seems to have gotten it right every year by getting the best 4 teams. For that matter the BCS did a pretty good job at getting the two best year in and year out.

If it was three in college for hoops the talent would get spread around much more. Disagree whole heartedly. If you have to go to school for 3 years for basketball, going to Duke or UK still is the best route for you to go if you want to make the NBA which all the top guys think they are going to do.

No way a PAC12 South team this year would deserve to get in over a 1 or 2 loss runner-up from the SEC or B1G, if they won the PAC Title game. Once would be one time too many for me...take the 4 or 6 or 8 best and get it on.
November 6, 20187 yr This. I like 6 teams personally but anymore than that is overkill. 6 is perfect. You get all power 5 and a wild card. Force ND and other independents to join conference. 2 best teams get a bye in the playoffs. First round is home games for better seeds.

First round is home games for better seeds. Forcing ND to join a conference is a huge deal to me. Just get a deal done with the Big 10 already and be done with it.
