November 7, 200619 yr Watch more NBA my Brother. Would AI be in your top ten? I know it might be a homer answer from you, but I would add some people to his list and might only take off between 2-5. I would add: Shawn Marion Amare Stoudemire Chauncey Billups Tracy McGrady Jermaine Oneal Gilbert Arenas Chris Bosh And possibly some others including...Paul Pierce, Ray Allen, Artest, Tony Parker, & Michael Redd.
November 7, 200619 yr Kobe, LeBron, and Garnett are better. I can't put anyone else in front of Iverson. He never stops moving, plays great d, and is a scorer. So in a hypothetical situation and your picking 4th to start an NBA franchise for just one year your taking AI? That is absurd. Did you watch the finals last year? There was a 7 footer running the floor and scoring at will and his team didn't win b/c of one player on the other team.

Watch a Sixers game and just watch him run. He never stops. People act like guys in the NBA play half speed and are lazy. AI plays the game like it's supposed to be played. He can fill it up. He can score with anyone. He's played on some horrible teams and shoots too much (Kobe, LeBron, and Dirk do too), but every shot he takes has a shot at going in. His career numbers are 28 6 assists and 4 boards. The points/assist combo is sick!! Jordan for his career averaged 30 5 assists and 6 boards. Jordan accounted for 40 points a game. So does Iverson. Last year AI averaged 33 pts and 7.5 assists. The year before he averaged 30 and 8. That's being involved in 46 points a game and 48 points a game every single game. For his career he has averaged over 40 minutes a game. He never stops. He's 6 ft 165 and still drives to the lane and attacks the basket. He gets crushed to the floor and still gets up, and gets up, and gets up. Allen Iverson being compared to some of these guys is a straight joke.

You're comment is laughable...In no way would I take T-Mac over AI, have you watched McGrady the last couple of years, if you said yes then you're crazy, and if you said no that's because he hasn't played much because of constant back problems! Wouldn't take Pierce over AI, nor Artest because AI is just as much as a defensive threat and has more scoring ability. Ray Allen is losing the 3 point touch.

I am still sticking with my contention that Ron Artest is one of the better players in the NBA (although I am 1 of about 100 people that feel that way and I think the guy is a head case ).

I am still sticking with my contention that Ron Artest is one of the better players in the NBA (although I am 1 of about 100 people that feel that way and I think the guy is a head case ). I think Iverson brings a lot to the table defensively. He is quick and always a threat to make a steal. I think the two are comparable but that's just my opinion!

November 7, 200619 yr The one thing that has always been some what of a problem for AI is FG% and attempts. But that comes with being the man guy on a bad team.
November 7, 200619 yr The one thing that has always been some what of a problem for AI is FG% and attempts. But that comes with being the man guy on a bad team. His career FG% is higher than the first 3 PG's I compared him to. Arenas, Armstrong, and Billups have lower FG %.

I'll respectfully disagree with your view on him.
November 7, 200619 yr Author Right but each year there are different players and they have had some horrible years. As I told HSSRB yesterday, the players that have the opportunity to come to Philly all pass. Why?

Seriously I can't take another NBA opinion of your seriously if you take a 30 something year old PG 5th out of every player in the NBA. Wade is 100 times better right now and would be picked by every GM in this hypothetical situation ahead of AI. I seriously think not one GM in the NBA would take AI in the top 15. I can name at least 8 players who play the 4 or 5 that they would take ahead of him or get fired. The one possible exception is Isiah Thomas.
November 7, 200619 yr He's not as versatile, but he can guard the point and can guard some 2 guards. Artest can guard the PG through the PF. Do people realize he asked originally if you could pick for this year? This is starting to get out of hand.
