November 2, 20187 yr UCF is going to lose a game this year. They can’t play defense. But I’d like to comment on the fact that the first down stick has a P6 logo on top. P6 as in Power 6. That’s the funniest thing I heard. Maybe if the AAC wants to be a part of the Power 5 they will relinquish their right to be the highest ranked G5 school to get an automatic bid to a NY6 bowl. The AAC has willingly accepted that bid 2 years in a row now and in all likelihood will again this year. I’d love to hear their explanation because you can’t have it both ways.

Wanting to be included with the power 5 but then accepting a bowl bid that clarifies you are actually in the group of 5? If they are serious about it they can turn down the bowl bid as a conference and say they want to qualify for a NY6 bowl game the same way a power 5 team does: merit.

If the P5 wanted this to be on merit, there would be no conference tie-ins at all and they wouldn't get to avoid scheduling good teams from the G5 and the playoff would have 16 teams in it, just to start. Since the playoffs started the bowl tie ins have been relatively eliminated due to the 2 semi final games rotating between the 6 bowl sites. Obviously the power 5 has the edge. As they should. But it is 100% based on merit. The committee chooses the NY6 bowl games themselves now while still trying to maintain traditional bowl matchups like the Big 10 and PAC 12 in the Rose Bowl. But it’s still about merit. You still have to prove you’re a good team over the season to get selected. The idea that P5 teams don’t want schedule G5 teams is a myth that is propogated time and time again.
November 2, 20187 yr Was last night UCF's best win? Or was it Pittsburgh? As I said a couple weeks ago, their only shot is to go through dominating foes. Getting in to nail biters against Memphis or shootouts against the vaunted Temple Owls isn't going to get you an invite to the big dance.

I think Memphis was probably the best team they have played thus far.
November 2, 20187 yr I watched most of this game. UCF is a nice team but they aren't getting into the playoff and will lose one or two of their last 3 games, in my opinion.
