6A #2 St. Xavier (KY) (7-2) travels to St. Xavier (OH) (4-5) after defeating 6A #4 Butler 14-6. St. Xavier (OH) is coming off a 27-20 loss to St. Ignatius (OH). Last year St.Xavier (OH) defeated St.Xavier (KY) 16-14. St. Xavier (OH) also needs to win this to have a chance at making the Ohio playoffs.

Tigers just need to get out of this game healthy. Have very weak opponent first round of playoffs, so playing tough opponent this week will not hurt, as long as avoid injuries. By Cal Preps ratings, the Bombers would be 4th in KY, but since Ohio grows football players on trees, they are 30th in Ohio.

Intriguing matchup this year. Cincy St. X is always a tough opponent no matter what their record is, and the Tigers most years play them very tough. This will probably be a low scoring game and the Tigers will need to be a bit more productive with their passing game to knockoff the Bombers.

Well...

On one hand you have St. X.

They have some decent wins, but also some questionable losses.

But then you also have St. X who has some questionable losses, but also hold some decent wins.

While St. X is at home, St. X has good road wins too.

My unprofessional opinion, with green as my favorite color, is that St. X wins. But not by a lot.

It's an easy conclusion to come to.

I like what the Tigers did with Bodhaine against Butler. Put him in more zone read plays and had a few more roll out passes instead of dropping him back. If they can continue developing Bodhaine in the passing game then this team could become very dangerous in the playoffs.

Agreed. I think this is a largely defensive game, and I just have a feeling that the Bombers are going to win by a touchdown or so.

The timing of this game has never made sense to me. Should be played earlier in the year. Louisville St X has much more to lose than gain from this game. I'm curious how coach Wallace will play it.

I agree. It used to be played earlier in the season, but I think around 2011 it was scheduled for the end. I would imagine not many in state teams want to play the Tigers the last game of the regular season and the Bombers will play pretty much anyone.
