Belfry 36 Pikeville 21

Featured Replies

Really good game that was a pretty even matchup.

Pikeville moved the ball well all night dominating TOP and taking a page out of Belfry's playbook with numerous 12+ play drives

Belfry swung for the fences though and hit the gamebreaking plays. Long TD's, three Interceptions, and a Goal Line stand to seal the final margin.

Trust me when I say Pikeville is really, really, really good 1A team. They dominated Belfry' D-line and Conner Roberts is a stud.

Blfry Sophomore Isaac Dixon wa svery impressive and had the play of the game at the end of the 1st Half when he broke a 80 yard TD run after Pikeville tied the game.

Pikeville gonna be a tough matchup for any team in 1A, Good gameplan tonight on the Panthers part to play keep away and out-Belfry the Pirates but those turnovers and the big play ability of Belfry was to much tonight. Good game tonight and good luck to both teams going forward on there seasons

Pikeville won some battles but Belfry won the war.

The Panthers outgained the Pirates 470 yards to 355.

Best Pikeville Offense since the 90's

If Pikeville can protect the ball better and continue to develop Zach Roberts as a rushing threat and find a secondary threat in the vertical passing game, these guys will put up enough points to win against any 1A team. Yes, I said, ANY.

Connor Roberts is tiough as nails and Hensley is a very good receiver. Zach Roberts is the key to their title chances.

Any word on the Mounts and Hensley injuries.

Sounds like Pikeville played very tough. They will be a force to deal with for anyone in 1A the rest of the way.

I read today that Pikeville's total yards was 407 instead of 470. I'm not sure if I misheard it on the radio, or if they misspoke. Either way, that is a lot of yards and they outgained the Pirates on the night.

That certainly is a bold statement. The state championship team with Battaile at quarterback and Pugh at running back along with others was a heck of an offense

This one is a little better up front, IMO. They don't have a Pugh on this team, but they have two Roberts' in the backfield and several nice receivers.

How do Battaile and Roberts compare at QB?

Yes.. I love this Pikeville Offense

Don't think they have that "guy" like Pugh, but I think they have more weapons and this OLine is a little better.

Connor Roberts is tough as nails and a much better threat in the RPO at QB.

I hope this game happens the beast from the east vs the beast from the West.

To be honest I could be wrong here don't quote me here though but I didn't think their offense was that good in the 90's. Yes they had some good players in JP Blair and the late Brett Coleman but I always thought they were one dimesional. I would take their 2015 team over any of their 90's teams.
