Top Centers In State

Featured Replies

I played one play at center my junior year, I have one fumble to go along with that.

The center is a funny position. Most fans would never notice a center. Especially one who is doing a good job. But, when you have one that struggles he will stick out like a sore thumb!

Amen !! They're definitely under the microscope every play. This coming from a dad who's nervous at the start of every offensive play.

Aaron Mullins for Breathitt County. 6'2" 225lbs. He has some of the best feet I have seen for an O line man. He's a little light in the britches but he makes up for it in fundamentals. He is pretty quick. He would probably make a great tight end in college.

I had the pleasure of lining up against him in our game against Breathitt. I will agree he's one of the best centers I've lined up against this year.

Kyle Pettit from Pendleton Co. he is only a junior this year.I understand he has been invited back to Michigan this weekend for the game. I believe this will be his 5th trip back to the "BIG HOUSE".

Please tell me that Rich Brooks is after him.

Dane Spoelker does a fine job for the Rocks in a very complicated offense. He really takes charge and delivers the ball for a team that operates from the gun about 75% of the time. He follows in the large footsteps of guys like Kerry Pappas and Wes Duke in being the trigger man in Trinity's high octane offense.

FYI, his biggest play to date may have been for a tackle while on defense, He only had one, but it was a big one.:sssh:

Dane is a great kid, I interviewed him last year for a film project I was doing, (due out this Christmas for you Rocks fans). . .

. . .he certianly going to be the answer to one of the most important triva questions in Trinity history.

Vince Nerone from Cov. HC is definitely one of the strongest centers out there at 5'11 270 lbs, I'm not exactly sure how much he squats and benches, but its alot.

Michael Walters from Ashland. A three year starter that has to be one of the strongest lineman in the state.

Squat:600

Bench:335

Please tell me that Rich Brooks is after him.

I think he was unofficially visiting last year. But I don't think KY was "actively" recruiting juniors this year. If I'm correct, they told him they could only seek seniors but he was on a list for further contact after his junior season. That may be a line of bull, or a way to cover your rear...not sure.

I think JCHS has an awesome center....His name is Wes Preston(he's a junior)...He took over at center after the second game of the season I think. I can't tell you how many times Grim has followed him through line for good yardage.

In the Ashland game he opened up a whole big enough for a mack truck and Grim used it for one of his many TD's

Thanks for the wonderful job you do, Wes!

I think the guy from Trinity is a good one, I think a lot of praise should go to his coach

Kenny Elenbrand

Please tell me that Rich Brooks is after him.

SuperB what do you think pettit is a great instate player you think he will go after him.NOT!!!!! I have a feeling the only way Kyle will play for the cats is if Barnhart and Brooks are both gone.( Rich Brooks proven loser as a coach and Kentucky hires him go figure)

Aaron Mullins is got to be at the top of the list here. Everyone he lines up against is a little bigger than him, but he always seems to get the job done. I talked to Casey Allen the other day and he said that he wouldn't know what to do if he didn't have is senior teammate Aaron Mullins beside him. A huge hearted cat is Aaron who not only makes holes for the running backs but also Punishes people when he is on defense.

Sounds like someone is bitter

Not bitter but telling the truth. He has not gone all out to get a great recruit from our state. Rich Brooks has done nothing for Kentucky football or the state of Kentucky in getting our top players to stay here and play. As far as being a proven loser, look at his stats he has had very few winning seasons anywhere he has been. Prove me wrong and I will apoligize, I am not bitter just putting out statisical back FACTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
