Who wins this matchup? Crittenden seems to have beefed the schedule up some in 2018. Caldwell lost last week to Hopkinsville.

Heated rivalry here, I know the Rockets would love beat Caldwell. Rockets havent won since ‘09 and the losses haven’t been competitive. This could be Crittenden’s best team in a while and Caldwell may have taken a step back this year. Maybe, just maybe they pull it off this year

This is a tough one. I want to say Crittenden County has a chance for the win this year, but history and the strength of schedules each have faced this year tell me that Caldwell gets a clear cut win. I will go with Caldwell County by 10 points.

I think the Rockets will be prepared for this one. It should be a close game but I think the Rockets will prevail.

Crittenden has too much offense this year... Crittenden by 2 TD’s.... I picked Caldwell in poll, but like the QB from Crittenden to get it done...

If Crittenden doesn't get cute, they should have a chance. But they tend to move the football on the ground and then decide to throw too much or run a trick play at the wrong time. They threw three picks in a game they had in control early and was running at will.

 

Crittenden's defense is the best they have had in a while. However, they are weak in covering screens which is where Caldwell will strike. Caldwell without Trel Riley will hurt them in the secondary but Crittenden will give the other DBs chances to make picks.

 

If Caldwell County can run the football and stop Crittenden on the ground, they should win by 10-14 points.

I don't know about the heated rivalry, Caldwell doesn't look at it as one, but this should be a good game. Caldwell has played 3 good teams, 5a Christian County and was in it til the end and they beat a good 5a Graves County team at Graves and had a chance til the end against A good 4a Hoptown team. The Rockets schedule pales in comparison to the Tigers and the game is in Princeton, Caldwell is without one of their better corners, something they will have to get used to with him. I think Crittenden will have to be able to run the ball to stay in the game, I'll take the Tigers in this one.

I have some friends in Crittenden County and I know how they feel about it. They are definitely little brother as between the two so I can understand the different perspective

I’ve seen both teams this year. Crittenden is best they have been in long time. Defense has shown big step from last years team. Offense has been more balanced but seemed to get complacent in two games I saw(May be due to fact they were blowing out opponents, Trigg game shouldn’t have even been as close as 46-7). Their main issue continues to be turnovers. If they can play this game and not have a turnover they have a shot.

 

Caldwell looks to struggle on offense right now. Yeah they have played the much tougher schedule which is part of reason the offense hasn’t been as smooth as usual but it has just seemed out of sorts at time which is unusual for them. Also taking Trel off the field takes their best athlete out of the game.

 

I will be rooting for the Rockets to pull the upset but I don’t think it’s going to happen. I do think it will be closer than the people in Princeton expect it to be. Tigers by 9.
