BluegrassPreps Class 3A Rankings - Discussion (8/27)

Class 3A

Corbin made the biggest statement of the 3A top teams by taking care of 2A Champion Danville. The Redhounds will now look to defend their Southern Kentucky bragging rights against Pulaski County. Boyle County rocked Franklin County's world and will get their turn with Danville this week after Corbin warmed them up. Belfry could not finish off a comeback against a talented out of state foe and will try to break their 2018 maiden against Bryan Station. Paducah Tilghman returns to the Top 10 after a solid early season pair of performances, but they will be put to the test against powerhouse 2A Mayfield.

1. Boyle County vs. 2A #4 Danville

2. Central at 5A Fern Creek

3. Corbin at 5A Pulaski County

4. Belfry vs. 6A Bryan Station

5. Lexington Catholic at 6A Lafayette

6. Elizabethtown at 6A North Hardin

7. Casey County at 4A Russell County

8. Caldwell County vs. 4A #5 Hopkinsville

9. Bell County vs. Pike County Central

10. Paducah Tilghman at 2A #2 Mayfield

Boyle has shown it still has its issues with the OL and Franklin County moved the ball well through the air. They just didn’t finish drives. At this point in the season I wouldn’t be against putting Central at 1 and Boyle at 2.

The Flyers had 139 yards passing.

134 of those were in the 1st half then the running clock hit and then the varsity portion was over. I bet Chuck Smith would agree that the secondary gave up too much.

Good to see PT back in the ten.

My thoughts exactly and I know they are in a “show me” type deal with most, but I’m not so sure they aren’t the 6th best team in 3A right now. No offense to the others in the bottom half, but I don’t that any of them want to see Tilghman right now.

I agree with you. FC was 17-22 for 134 yards at halftime. Luckily Boyle County's run defense dominated.

Take the AP poll for what it's worth, but they have Tilghman at 5th. I also agree with your statement. The good thing is, we get a chance this week to see how far we've come.

I can get on board with that. Didn’t know they had them at 5th.

Lex Cath putting up a lot of points. If they can get the defense to make some stops they are going to be a tough out!

The top 5 of 3A is stacked!
