The Ohio State Board of Trustees are convening a meeting on Wednesday, reportedly to discuss personnel decisions in regards to their football coach.

What do you think will be the final results (announced Wednesday or later) in regards to Urban Meyers job?

NO REHASHING OF WHAT HAS HAPPENED THAT LED TO THIS

Only discuss what you think will or should happen in regards to his job.

I think he'll be reinstated ASAP with an apology from someone in the University.

Gene Smith may be sacrificed, I won't be shocked if he is fired or announces his retirement very soon.

No way he is suspended. Not with a potential National Championship team and a Pre-Season #3 ranking.

I'm expecting a suspension personally. Maybe thats just me preparing for the worst and hoping for the best. The one thing I can say, is at this point, I don't think OSU could have handled this situation any better and if nothing else OSU has set a new precedent for how universities will handle situations like this going forward. That said, I'm content with whatever decision comes available as long as they tell us what the findings were. I don't think you can fire him or reinstate him without acknowledging to the public the nature of the findings.

Just so everyone is on the same page for what to expect. The board met with the investigative team today to discuss the details of the investigation. The board is now fully aware of all of the details of the case and has all of the information the investigative team has. They were required to give 24 hours notice to the public of a "executive committee" meeting where they will meet privately with President Drake to discuss as JD alluded to "personnel matters". It's not directly stated, but its implied that this is when the board and president Drake will come to a mutual agreement on what to do with Urban. After that meeting at 9:00 ends its simply a waiting game. I would expect some sort of announcement near the end of the work day Wednesday, but wouldn't be surprised if something isn't announced until Friday.

The last 4 previous Ohio State coaches are hall of famers and all 4 have been fired by Ohio State. If you think the university will stick it's neck out to protect Urban Meyer if he didn't act in a way they deem appropriate, then you are mistaken.

No suspension and the University leadership fire themselves immediately.

Is Smith still on vacation?

No idea what's going on with him...I barely even knew his name as the AD.

Time served?

I hope so.

He’s also on the Playoff committee.

To be fair, one punched a player on live TV, one would have been fired about 3 years earlier by the fans and even said “it is one of the darkest moments in Ohio state football”, one never beat the team up north. Tressel May have an argument about not being protected. His scandal doesn’t seem so bad now.

I was just pointing out that OSU has a long history of firing great coaches. They've made it clear that the university is above the football program.
