Remke and ICN6

Featured Replies

Hats off to ICN6 and Remke for showing the games they've shown this year. Its a great community service and I greatly appreciate it.

I'd suggest to Don WEber that he step in or get a new play-by-play guy because he is difficult to listen to.

Even despite that, its a great service and I, for one, thoroughly enjoyed the games this season.

I didn't think they did that poorly a job. I was surprised that the announcers questioned CovCath going for the field goals (due to the distance), but the guys on 107.5 did as well. Popham has a leg.

Totally agree.

From mentioning former Beechwood coach Mike "Yee-gull", to not knowing high school rules, to not watching the actual play on the field.........just not good.

I think the coverage was much improved this year from a technical standpoint, and Max was better than last year. I also liked Charlie on the side line. I can now only think of one thing I'd change... :D

For the record, the intent of this thread was to show appreciation to ICN6 and Remke.

My vote is that any bashing takes place in the game thread.

But Mom he started it.:D

I want to give props to the ICN crew and Remke as well. Coleman did a superb job on the sidelines with his interview of HHS principal and the poignant questions about classification. His interesting perspective on the 2pt attempt by HHS in the 4th qtr and also on those last 2 plays when he mentioned taking the pass intereference as opposed to letting the kid get an easy catch. He IMO was the best of the crew. Maybe they should put him on in the press box.

ONe last comment on the commercials. What was up with that Husman's commercial and the teenager cramming all those chips into his mouth. That was just sick.... How would you like to be that family? Yea.. here is my son Johnny...eating like an animal.

I thought the comment by Mr. Elgins that the #1 seed should not have to play their rival again to get to the state championship was interesting.

My hats off to Remke and ICN6 for the effort. Thanks for all the games!

I did also... in fact he didnt pull any punches when talking about "watered down" football and too many classifications. I was waiting for him to tell us how he really felt. :D

Very nice to have this on TV, last night with 2 sick kids and a wife with her back completely out it gave us the option to order pizza, have some friends over and watch in the comfort of home.

P.S. The Announcer was embarsillingy bad

After reading the CCH/Highland thread, it seems the one announcer, not MAX, consistantly kept saying the wrong names. If I remember right this also happened in the BHS/CCH game and also in the BHS/NCC game.

This is a wonderful thing for NKY that ICN6 and Bill Remke, along w/all the other great sponsors are doing but it is embarrassing to have someone consistantly make the same mistake over and over. Everyone should take their complaints to ICN6 or even Mr Remke to get this corrected for the following yrs to come.

Unless Insight gives a nice big check to the Team From Ft. Thomas and CovCath, how about all those who stayed home and watched the game on Cable sending a check for the price of your admission to either the Team from Ft. Thomas or CovCath. IMHO, the attendance at the game suffered greatly by the game being shown live by Insight. The night started out weather wise to be miserable, but as game started, it wasn't bad at all. Does any one know for sure, if Insight gives the schools anything?

It was nice seeing the game for a few minutes before heading off to work. Wish I would have been able to see that last CCH drive.

I am sure that the schools do not get anything out of this except exposer. It's a great chance for everyone in NKY to get to see a lot of the teams play through the year. Not too sure about the live TV as I do see it hurting the gate at the games, but on the other side I was expecting a big crowd at Beechwood for the Holy Cross game (no live TV), not many people showed up for a game which pitted the top two ranked A teams around.

If you know BHS as I know BHS, the crowd for them was very predictable. The BHS faithful are not coming outdoors to get wet to watch a football game. It is very sad to see the visitors w/more fans than the home team, very disappointing to the kids not to have a crowd. The BHS fans should be ashamed of themselves. I bet if they make it to finals everyone will take a day off work to go to Louis!

Back to the TV. The BHS/CCH game and BHS/NCC game were televised and the gate was not hurt at all. The 1st game was one of the largest crowds ever at BHS. Last nights crowds were due mainly to weather. One thing about NKY, they love their H.S. football unless weather hits especially at BHS.
