Cass was terrible on his own IMO. He & Enzo together were okay, but the product will be better without both of them.

Having said that, I'm really surprised they let him go. Vince loves his big men.

What did he violate the script on?

Pro Wrestling Sheet has learned Big Cass upset the powers-that-be in WWE last week by going against a directive given to him before a segment involving a little person.

In case you missed it, the segment on SmackDown Live featured a little person dressed as Daniel Bryan and ended with Cass beating him down in the middle of the ring.

According to sources, however, it didn’t play out exactly as scripted.

We’re told Cass was directed to be done with the attack after hitting the impersonator with a big boot, but the wrestler asked if he could take it further with a beatdown. Backstage officials said no, but BC felt strongly about doing so and took the issue up with Vince McMahon … who also shot him down.

When the segment happened in the ring though, Big Cass went against what he was told after hitting the big boot and mounted the little person to throw a barrage of punches.

Sources tell us backstage officials were very unhappy and it landed the recently returned wrestler in hot water. A few days later he lost to Daniel Bryan at Backlash, then wasn’t used on TV during SmackDown Live this week. No word on whether that was already the plan before he went off-script.

Big Cass Upset Backstage Officials For Going Against Directive

I would have fired him on the spot.

Cody Rhodes & company are doing an event called "All In" in Chicago the first of September. WWE has a 90-day No-Compete Clause in their contracts with all wrestlers, meaning when they part ways, the wrestler cannot compete anywhere in a 90-day period. My guess is they held off on firing Cass to prevent him from working the "All In" show.

I'd also venture a guess that having him tap twice (and quickly) to a much smaller Daniel Bryan...then giving him the pink slip...that was probably a bigger kick in the jewels than it would have been had they just let him go immediately.

Just read where he may have had some backstage attitude issues Sunday before the show. Sounds like the last straw. It was a mistake to break up Enzo and Cass as a Tag Team. They were super over but both flopped as singles stars even with Enzo becoming a 2 time Cruiserweight Champ. Neither were good in the ring.

Right around the time Cass came back, I came across some info that he wasn't so much different from Enzo in terms of attitude. The major difference was that WWE didn't like the crowd that Enzo spent considerable time with. Basically, both were jerks, but Enzo had an added problem of the crowd he hung out with.

If true that kind of stuff makes me think the WWE is scum. In other words, they knew they were dumping him so let him work.
