How would the seeding be in R1, D1, 1A be if Fulton County were to win? By this you have them 2 and 3... which I am not saying is wrong, just how does the tie-breaker system work. You get the teams you have beaten wins, correct? Would Fulton County be the #2 team?
If Fulton County wins, the three-team tiebreaker goes into effect. Each teams counts the wins of up to four teams they have beaten that are not involved in the tiebreaker.

Fulton City counts ... 6

Gleason ... 2

Ballard Memorial ... 2

Greenfield ... 1

Reidland ... 1

Fulton County counts ... 5

Gleason ... 2

Ballard Memorial ... 2

Reidland ... 1

Murray counts ... 4 at the most, even if they win this week

Ballard Memorial ... 2

Ohio County ... 2

Fulton County could gain a point on Fulton City if Portageville (0-8 in Missouri) wins this week, but even so, Fulton City would win out because the team they beat from Illinois (Metro-East Lutheran) has one win they can add to their count.

Plus you would get the points for the teams mentioned, would you not? For example, would Murray get Fulton County's wins as well or is it just the accumulation of wins from the teams outside of the triangle (Fulton Co., Fulton City, and Murray) of teams?

No, teams can't count wins over the other teams involved in the tiebreaker.

:thumb: Gotcha.

I'm almost certain, if not exact, I apologize, but I believe that if Mercer beats Spencer and Newport beats Lloyd, then all four of those teams will turn around next week and play oneanother, because...................

Newport, Lloyd and Spencer will all be in a three way tie w/ a 3-2 record, Spencer WOULD lose out in the tie breaker of the three and finish 4th.

You must have added that after my post :p

About the same time ... cut and paste is so time-consuming.
Belfry vs. Shelby Valley.. barring a Belfry victory.

What's crazy is, if Valley pulls the upset then Belfry drops from the 1 seed all the way to a 4 seed!

That is hard to believe... Haywood will have the angry red ready! :fight:

If Scott Co wins @Lafayette this week, then they play @Lafayette next week.

All this play within the District and drawing to see which Districts play who was an appeasement to the Coaches Assn. over the public vs. private.

Really... I didnt know that. Thanks.

Lloyd goes to 4th and plays Mercer. Spencer and Newport play. Spencer cannot do worse than 3rd. Mercer has won the district unless Spencer can upset.

In 1A, District 6, PARIS & RACELAND play this week to end the regular season and will then turn around next week and play each other again in the 1st round of the play-offs.

So the teams will have an extra motivation to win this.....win and you host the other team.

Statman...THAT is actually some GOOD motivation!:thumb:

It is strange how these things are playing out across the state though...this was a good thread topic!

Even more difficult is the task of playing the SAME team two weeks in a row.

COACHING becomes a HUGE factor in that situation - dont you think?
