I believe Coach Morris is leaving the offensive coordinator position at Henderson County.

I stand corrected...he's been on staff at O-Cath for the last two seasons, and was previously the offensive coordinator at Henderson County.

Don’t really know if the Catholic fans are really thrilled with the hire. OC should be strong this year with their senior class but doesn’t really have anything after that coming up

After talking to a few Aces fans and hearing about a candidate or two that they interviewed, I agree with Eagles8791. Catholic is free to do what they want to do, but I don't know how the Aces faithful are feeling about this pick.

Other than him being OC at Catholic, what else has he done?

Well this is what happens when you continually bash coaches— good ones leave and you may not be able to replace them with equally as good of a coach- Best of luck to Coach Morris

Morris inherits a very good 2A team, strong upcoming senior and sophomore class with a star in the making QB as a junior. Last season's 8th grade class had success as well. The players like Morris and so far he has said all the right things.

This hire doesn't come as a surprise. Coach Morris has been a well liked coach on the staff for the past 2 years. He was already in the school as a teacher so his familiarity with players and administration was a big deal. Owensboro Catholic is a unique program due to the fact that they have very few coaches on staff and most of the one's that are on staff are not teachers and some even volunteers.

He does inherit a talented team coming back, but opens up with a pretty tough schedule. He said in his interview to expect alot of the same things that Owensboro Catholic has done previously, so I think that will sit well with fans. Year 2 may be where we see how this hire plays out as he will be losing a few talented and experienced seniors.

Nice home and away series would be De Sales vs Owensboro Catholic. DeSales needs to upgrade their schedule in a couple of spots.
