What's going on in Austin?

Featured Replies

As of this morning, there have been 3 bombs that have randomly gone off over the past two weeks in Austin Texas.

At least two people have died so far and the police are saying the bombings seem to be related.

Could be Hate Crimes or Coincidence...police are not sure yet.

No information on this latest bombing yet.

Yikes. Scary stuff.

Have they said if there's any connections between the individuals receiving the packages, or just random?

They haven't announced a connection if they have one yet.

The press conference I watched earlier said they do believe that the bombings are connected. They didn't specify whether they believe they're connected due to it being the same bomber (which seems obvious) or if the families that received the packages are connected in one way or another.

Yes, that's what I meant. They think same bomber, but not sure of connection between targets yet.

Yeah, big differences and they didn't say much to clear it up any. My first thoughts are that this could be cartel involved. Mainly due to how brazen the bombings have been. This day in age, with cameras seemingly everywhere, it's hard to imagine someone smart enough to create this type of bomb that detonates once the package is moved wouldn't know better than to walk up and place it on a porch themselves, if they don't want caught. That is of course, if they don't already have a plan in place to get out of the Country and no documentation to link them to the bombings. I really don't think this is going to turn out to be a hate crime and I imagine there will be a link between the families that received the packages.

They weren't disguised as printer parts were they?

State is offering $15,000.

Austin is offering $100,000 for a tip that leads to arrest.

I don’t understand why this story isn’t getting more traction.

It seems to be all over the place now. The fourth bomb has the ring of something more random, which will scare the tar out of people.

There was an explosion this morning at FedEx about 60 miles from Austin
