March 7, 20188 yr He's at high A Daytona, 23 years old. He still hasn't proven he can hit in the minors but is high on their prospects list. He hit .300 for his career at Clemson so maybe there's still time for him. I don't think catcher is a high priority anymore with Barnhart doing a great job and hitting for a decent average. They will have to make a decision soon on Mesoraco as this is his last year under contract @ $13.125m. He's a FA next year and I can't see them resigning him for anything near that. They also have a catching prospect in Tyler Stephenson who they drafted in the first round in 2015. I think he is a little more raw than Chris Okey since Stephenson came straight from high school. Mlb pipeline has Stephenson ranked #10 and Okey#20 in the Reds Top 30 list.

Stephenson has had some bad injury luck so far in his career. Hopefully he can get back on track this year.

March 12, 20188 yr Sounds like DeSclafani is in midseason form. He's got an oblique injury with no timetable set for his return. Finnegan left with a forearm injury as well.

March 12, 20188 yr Don't think Finnegan's injury is serious. Hopefully not. But those forearm cramps/spasms/tightness issues are scary. They often come up before serious elbow issues.

March 13, 20188 yr Pitchers get hurt. Most the time it's just bad luck. The Reds were right in the middle of the pack last year in injuries for pitchers. It just so happened it was a lot of starters that were very costly.

March 26, 20188 yr No except for Peraza and Hamilton. Peraza better do well early. If not I see Suarez moving to ss and senzel coming up. Who thinks Scooter even approaches his numbers of last year?
