Mr. Network, when was the last time a Lincoln County team was 8-1? and 9-1?

1994.

Lincoln turn the ball over an awful lot tonight they had a pitch intercepted on Montgomery's 5 yard line right before the half on a 1st down play. Had an interception on their own 30 returned inside the 15 yardline that lead to Montgomery's 2nd touchdown, and had a fumbled pitch inside their territory get returned to the 1 which led to a Montgomery touchdown. They had two more turnovers in their own territoy which the defense had to step up and make some big stops. It was a hard hitting game, 85 for the Indians played extremely well, I don't think we blocked him the whole game. It wasn't until the 4th quarter when lincoln started to pull away, Montgomery actually took the lead 22-21 with about 8 or 9 minutes to go in the 4th quarter when they returned a lincoln fumble back to the 1. I think depth played a huge roll in Lincoln's ability to pull away late, the Indians had a lot of players going both ways where Lincoln is able to play different players on both sides of the ball.

Good game by both teams and congrats to Montgomery on the turn around season, they have a lot to look forward to going into the playoffs, they are still a very dangerous team.

Lincoln County-Madison Central next week for the top seed in the playoffs. What's amazing is that if Montgomery County had won tonight, they would have finished first in the district. Now, based upon tiebreaker procedures, Montgomery likely will finish fourth. Very tough loss for the Indians and a good win for Lincoln County after somewhat of a shaky start.

LCs O almost fumbled the game away. The defence for Lincoln really stepped up the second half and put alot of pressure on the Montgomery Co. qb. I do believe that fatique on Montgomery did play a part. They are a very dangerous team and I do not look forward to playing them again.

If you beat Madison Central next week, you most likely will see Montgomery in the first round. Do you think the long trip to Mount Sterling played a role in Lincoln's poor showing early?

Long bus ride, very poor field conditions, and a Montgomery Co. team that came to play on Senior night.

A great win for the Patriots. It was good to see them play against some adversity tonight. The turnovers just about lost the game for the Patriots but they showed some heart and finally played some football in the second half of a football game this year.

Montgomery Counties qb #11 is a heck of a competitor. He ran the ball extremely hard and has a decent arm. Montgomery played a very hard fought game tonight. This game was some of the best hitting I have seen all year by both teams.

Good win for Lincoln Co... the folks in LC are very lucky to have Coach French teaching their kids how to play the game and he is restoring success to the program!!

You're exactly right hopper. Good post. Congratulations Patriots, and good luck the rest of the way.

Did they have 5 turnovers for the game?

Another great win for the Pats. especially on the road. Stay the course, and best of luck the rest of the way. ;)

If Lincoln wins, and Clark wins, then Montgomery will finish 3rd because of the ty breaker system (wins of out of district opponents). If Clark loses, and Lincoln wins next week Montgomery will finish second because they beat Madison Central head to head.

Its not just out of district opponents. This is from the KHSAA website. I'll add a link.

each team for the position shall receive one (1) point for each game won by ANY four of their defeated opponents in all games (No mention of out-of-district only), except for the games played between any two of the tied teams.

Here is the link. Its PDF. Scroll down to page two to find this information.
