Lincoln County 40 Montgomery County 22

Long bus ride, very poor field conditions, and a Montgomery Co. team that came to play on Senior night.

Just curious about the field conditions, Was it that Lincoln was not used to playing on poor field conditions like that and with it being at MC they were?

no we're used to playing on poor field conditions we have a water pipe under the bleachers that leaks out onto the field so even on a week where it hasn't rained there for about 40 yards or so on the home side closest to the scoreboard it's always poor. Plus it has been a rainy season so just about every week we've played on a wet field. Montgomery will finish 4th no matter what unless Rowan County has around 9 or 10 wins, they are 0-3 for non-district play. If Lincoln wins then Madison Central, Montgomery, and GRC will all have 2 losses. If Central wins then it will be:

1. Madison Central 1 loss

2. Lincoln 1 loss

3. GRC (beat Montgomery) 2 losses

4. Montgomery 2 losses

Just curious to how Rowan fits into the picture?

I do not think that you can predict where everyone will finish yet. The only guaranteed finish is if Mad. Central beats Lincoln then CoachJr's finish is correct. If Lincoln beats Mad. Central then you have to wait until the end of the night to see how many wins that the teams that everyone beat ends up with. As it stands now if you give each team a point for wins by opponents that they have beaten it is like this. Madison Central 7 points, Montgomery County 7 points, GRC 6 points. But each team could pick up points based on whether the teams that they have beaten win this weekend. With all this said, I do not think you can predict who will play who until after next weekend. I do know that if Lincoln beats Mad. Central, they have the opportunity of hosting the playoffs all the way until Papa John's, that could be a huge advantage.

Lincoln controls their own destiny; being in that position is a wonderful thing to have! Beat the Indians, play at home!

Montgomery plays Rowan this friday if i'm not mistaken for their final non-district game, and since they haven't won any non-district games yet they need this one to earn some points (not sure how many points they will earn though)

The three way tie-breaker will play out if follows if Madison Central loses, which I hope doesn't happen.;)

GRC gets points from Garrard County and Bryan Station.

Madison Central gets points from Dunbar and West Jessamine.

Montgomery will get points if they beat Rowan.

GRC will win that tiebreaker. MC has one point from West and could get two more if Dunbar beats Station and if West Jess. beats Western Hills. Montgomery can only finish with 2 points if they beat Rowan.

All of this will be for not if Madison Central takes care of Lincoln and GRC beats South Laurel. Then the district seeding would be:

Madison Central

Lincoln

GRC

Montgomery

WOW, if Lincoln wins they could host the playoffs up until State? Are you sure that is correct?

I think that is correct. If the #1 seed from the Lincoln/Mad. Central district makes it to the regional championship, then that game would either be at Lincoln or in Richmond versus the Lexington 4A district champ (no matter what seed). Then if either team was to win that game then the winner of the Trinity/Male/St. X region has to travel this year. Not 100% on this but pretty sure.

The only way this could happen is if the #1 seed from the district keeps winning in the playoffs.

Remember that Clark still has to beat South Laurel, if they don't they have 3 loses and Montgomery would be the 2 seed because they beat Madison Central.

Lincoln is in District 8 in Region 4 and this is an even numbered year so yes they would host all the way to Papa Johns. Explanation: District 8 champion (Lincoln, Mad. Central, etc. ) plays District 7 champion ( Lafayette, Henry Clay, etc. ), if they are a #1 seed then because 8 is an even number and 2006 is an even number they would host. Region 4 champion plays Region 3 ( Trinity, etc. ) and for the same reason they would host the semifinal. Hope this makes since.

Son of Bear, Trinity is the only Louisville Powerhouse in the other region, Lincoln would not play St. X or Male until the final game. I reckon it is set up like that so that if St. X and Trinity make it to the finals they can sell 30 or 40,000 tickets.

The format has been changed for this year. Where Trinity's district usually played the Northern KY district, they will play the other Louisville district. What this all means is that St. X and Male will probably meet in the 2nd round and the winner will play Trinity in the region finals. The winner of that game will travel to central KY to take on the winner of the Lexington/Mountain 4A Region in the state semi game.

Thanks for the info... I did not realize that 4A was not playing 1-2,3-4,5-6,7-8. Does anyone know the reasoning behind the change. I noticed that 1A and 3A have not changed only 2A and 4A.

im just so excited to finally see lincoln back on the map...the players have been through some tough times on the team...theyre 3 wins away from winning as many games as i did my entire high school career:creepy:
