Well I honestly believe there is some good teams this year in the 39th. With what great things I saw last year I think the 39th will be most talked about this year.

 

Rankings:

1. Maysville-Mason (Great Coaching quality, good bench)

2. Augusta (Again Coaching quality, decent bench very little needs to be explained might be another looker in the 10th)

3. Bracken (Good team overall, like the Defense)

4. Saint Pat (Great team could have a good season)

Its not called Maysville-Mason i went to Maysville for a few years but its now just Mason County .Move on man.

Sorry whenever I say Mason many people think Mason Ohio it is just force habit. I honestly do not think Saint Pat should be rank above Augusta though. Augusta may not be an excellent team but they do have some good players up their sleeves

Look when your talking 39th district basketball, no one is going to mistaken Mason County with Mason, Ohio. Nice try at the coverup though.

Maybe, but I'll take the 39th over the 61st (Rowan, 14-14 last year; Fleming, 9-18 last year; Bath, 8-18 last year and Menifee, 5-21 last year), or a little farther from home, the 19th (other than Bardstown, you have Washington County 4-22, Nelson County 13-17 and Bethlehem 3-23) and the 12th (Grayson County 17-12, Butler County 10-19, Edmonson County 3-20 and Whitesville 5-20). There are quite a few weak districts out there.

 

I'll grant that even including Mason County, the 39th may very well be the weakest in the 10th Region.

Unless all three school consolidate with each other, Mason will win the district. I do like Augusta's potential this season though. Their varsity now has a lot of experience and their experience from last season should take them back to the regional unless they draw the Royals.

 

Bracken also has some experienced players in Jesse Hall and Tyler Hamilton. Both these kids, like Augusta's seniors, have had to play on some underhanded teams. Kudos to the kids that never give up on success.

 

When I think Saint Patrick this season, I anticipate Chris Owens' breakout season. Afterall, he's an Owens. Should be a sleeper in 10th player of the year.

Not Mason County's fault that realignment took Fleming County not only out of the 39th but out of the 10th Region as well.

I think its a close race between St. Pat and Augusta for the 2nd spot but i give the nod to the Patties as of right now,I think Bracken isn't to far behind either should be a dog fight for those 2-4 spots.Herd Chris Owens has grown some over the summer also.

I doubt that Consolidation would have any affect, unless they merged with Augusta . Isn't the 38th like the 39th? I am not too sure on PC or Harrison, I think though Deming and Nicholas are less than 3A not to sure, my Brain aint working.

What I am asking is could the 39th district have the biggest difference in enrollment as far as Mason being so much bigger than all three schools. I am not sure of my wording but I'm sure you know what I mean. Pendleton and Harrison are both much larger than St. Patrick, Augusta and Bracken. Deming and Nicholas are small but the district should stay competitive year in and year out with Pendleton and Harrison. This season even Deming should stay at least competitive with all three district opponents. Mason should run away with the 39th every year for eternity unless something drastic happens.

 

I guess I could also word it like this:

Is there a bigger lock in the state as far as distict championships as there is of Mason being a lock in the 39th?

I wish Bracken County and Augusta good luck this year:thumb: , I'm somewhat a fan of the old 38th disrtrict days and remember some great games we'v had against each other in the ol' 38th.
