They have probally a top 10 player in Chris Owens in the region.They have a little size this years also,Could be an interesting year downtown as they may knock off a few teams.

Honestly never saw the kid play on the hardwood yet so i cant say.He is about 6'3 - 6'4 though and strong as an ox and hes a very good athelete so i would say yes.

So I guess since only 1 or 2 posts mention Bracken, they're a lock for 4th in the district?? That's fine with us.

And another thing... If I have to hear much more about the 39th runner-up Augusta Panthers I'm gonna puke. Do you hear Scott high or even Deming spouting off about being runners-up? Word has it that Cox will definitely go out for basketball; Marshall does not strike me as having a basketball body. Cox may be able to help replace Mikah Turner up front.

39th DISTRICT RUNNERS UP AUGUSTA PANTHERS

It has been 23 years boys (13 girls) IT IS A BIG DEAL. Compared to other large schools, when Augusta gets something it is A BIG DEAL regardless of what it was. I bet you that they did spend money on those shirts "From the River to the Region" and Augusta people wear them proudly, and anyways how would you know whether the School District did spend money on them anyway?

It is a big deal when Augusta gets something, it does not matter what. How many times has Augusta supported Bracken in the 10th? How many times has Augusta sat in the shadows watching Bracken win and get trophies and titles?

The answer.......TO MANY TIMES and for once in 23/13 years Augusta does something you go right ahead and dog Augusta. Also, the reason why you do not hear Scott High or Deming celebrate is beacuse they win in other tournaments, they have won in districts before 23/13 years.

All I have or anyone else for that matter is to look at our trophy case from years past when we have defeated the ol' 38th district teams, Pendleton County included, and I remember vivdley the years Augusta rocked the district as well with names like Sapp, Kelsch,Troy Archibald,Keith Randolph, BRIAN KIRK.:thumb:

Look, you may never know how it feels to go 25 years since making the regional tournament. That's a must needed boost for the program and the school. The school went from close to consolidation in the mid-90's to a whole town of supporters. The whole thing brought the community closer and gave something to look forward to for the younger kids as well. So what you're sick of it, no one cares. Especially the 1500 people wearing the shirt to this day.

I need to apologize for my comments yesterday... I was a wee bit stressed and thought I found an avenue, and did not. Augusta did support us through the years (to little sucess on our part) and we thank you for that. I do think a DISTRICT runner up shirt is a little excessive, but lets face it, If you're a Panther,Polar Bear or Saint... It may be a while before we're much else. If I upset any Augusta fans then I am sorry. I remember dogging each other in the districts, which was fun by the way, and sometimes even fighthing, but when we would advance to the region you guys supported us. I should have done the same.
