A “lock” seems like a strong word. CJ is the preseason favorite and we are only a month in, and he had better stats last night vs Kunkel. I would love for either of them to win it, but winning is going to be what gives them a shot at that prestigious award come March.

I am not sure we can say which player's stats were better last night but it is obvious which team plays as a team:

FREDERICK - 29 points on 42% shooting

8 for 19 overall (the entire rest of the team took 23 shots combined)

2 for 9 beyond the arc (22%)

9 for 11 free throws

7 rebounds

2 turnovers

1 assist

32 minutes played

Team Loss

KUNKEL - 23 points on 73% shooting

8 for 11 (the rest of the team took 26 shots combined)

2 for 3 beyond the arc (66%)

5 for 7 free throws

5 rebounds

4 turnovers

1 assist

28:45 played

Team Win

Someone has an unhealthy infatuation.

Did you post after the Cooper Trinity game that Kunkel took 21 shots and the rest of the team took 24?

The top player sometimes has to not be afraid to be the man. Neither are. I applaud both CJ and AK .

I haven't had a chance to watch the replay yet. Looking forward to some great battles in the 9th this year. What a great tournament to follow and an excellent week of hoops.

Some of you just can't help yourselves...
