Bears 33 Bengals 7

It won't happen. Marvin imo is also ready to be done and ready for something new.

I would think at some point he would have to say enough is enough. You know Brown’s probably good with these one year deals Marvin is signing.

I just hope that they get rid of the entire coaching staff and start over.

Yep!!!

Reporter: What happened out there today?

Player reply ...

Option A: We were just flat. No energy.

Option B: Did you see the players we put on the field today? Those guys can't win an NFL game.

Hmmmmm ..

Player is always going to go with option A. Protect the boys and don't admit that we did not have the players on the field that could win a game.

The Bengals players that took the field today would be in a battle for the top pick in the draft with the Cleveland Browns. Take that many starters and key players off of any defense in the NFL and that team will struggle.

Every team in the NFL is banged up this time of year! Injuries certainly made it tougher, but IMO the front office's lack of ability to find quality backups and the coaching staff's inability to develop or motivate virtually anyone, equals the performance you witnessed today.

Are you telling me the Bengals are hit by the injury bug worse than teams like Arizona, Houston or Indy, who I watched still fighting to the end today with far less talent? This wasn't the Patriots, Eagles or Rams out there today; although if you didn't look close, you might have thought so?

Despite the league's best efforts to make everyone equal teams like the Browns and Bengals under Mike Brown are destined to be poor to average dependent on their schedule for the year!!

That is an old washed up narrative. While the Bengals haven't done much with their playoff appearances. Until the last 2 years. The Bengals were only one of 5 teams in the whole nfl to make the playoffs 6 out of 7 years. The Bengals were competitive and had a chance and just failed in those opportunities.

So many people got use to that narrative during the 90s and early 2000s it's easy to just fall back to that. The fact of the matter is the Bengals especially since Marvin has been here has actually been more successful on a year to year basis than probably half the NFL.

This team is done and ready for a change and when that happens it does make things look worst than what they are. The Bengals have put together a nice core now to where their window could be open again as soon as next year depending on who they get as a coach and address the o line.

Let's be real clear--The Bengals "haven't done much with their playoff chances"; they done exactly nothing! Your description of their decade or so of "success" is the definition of mediocre? "Better than half the teams" & "Competitive" are just what Mikey & company want you to think, while giving their typical false hope.

While I certainly agree these are not your "Lost Decades' Bungals"; I'd really like to understand what "nice core" you refer to that gives you such optimism? Dalton--Seriously? AJ Green--Gone. D-Line--Hopeful. Linebackers--Some decent young LB's, but without Burfict they're exposed like today? Secondary--Average to weak & Pacman's their best & he's gone? O-Line--Obviously not? Other receivers--Not. RB's--Mixon's fine, love Gio but then........ Not seeing the hope, but then I'm no longer drinking the orange kool-aid either.

The "washed up narrative" is that the Bengals are close to being great!!!!

I wish this organization had the unit to ax Marvin pronto but it wouldn't surprise me if he signs another one year deal.

Wouldn't surprise me if they tried to keep him on. I just hope he has the decency to walk away.

Is a 5 game losing streak to end the season enough to get Marvin fired?

They put forth zero effort yesterday.

They quit after last Monday night's loss. The fact that Marvin is still employed this morning only speaks to how big of a joke the franchise is.

I always love when people act like just someone doesn't think they are doomed and flat out terrible that means they are drinking the kool aid. You all realize all the bad Bengal years can also make you all not look at this team realistically.

Same thing back in 2011, 2012. People said I was drinking the kool aid and they would be horrible. I'm just a optimist blah, blah, blah. Well basically everyone ended up being wrong and they were better than everyone thought.

The defense is not that bad, especially if the offense did anything this year. Pacman is not their best corner. William Jackson is showing signs of being a legit shut down corner. Besides the Steelers game Dre has had one of his best years, same with Dennard. Safeties are average, because none of them are true play makers. D line is good, and this is the best linecaking core we have had in awhile. Vigil and Burfict are two really good ones.

Offensively I think there is more talent at wr than we get to see or know. But it's been a combination of bad line play, a qb who stares down on target, and coaching. Runningbacks I think we are good. Te is an area of need if Eifert is not back and even if he is if he can stay healthy.

The biggest areas are coaching and o line tho. Both if addressed right this off season, could make this team ready to truly win starting next year. They do have pieces in place. I'm sorry if you can't see that. So agree to disagree.

Honestly I'm glad they didn't fire him. The last thing I want to see is them go with an Interm coach the rest of the year and somehow do well in the last 3 games. Where they decide to keep that guy as the coach instead. Wait to the Monday after the season ends and clear house completely with all coaches.

26 point differential to the Bears. That game was potentially a good excuse for instituting a running clock in the NFL.
