November 1, 20178 yr Author No one runs the ball against Bama.....The only thing UGA does well is run the ball. Kirby Smart learned everything he knows about defense from Nick Saban; who most people would put in the top 5 college coaches of all time. Bama has better players and more depth than UGA. So you're saying because Jalen Hurts (in your opinion) can't throw the ball that UGA will beat Bama.....good luck with that one. Nobody runs the ball on Bama. I know a guy...
November 1, 20178 yr I think their best bet is OSU winning out and the Big 10. I think the committee would rather see OSU/ PSU part 2 on a neutral site than they would Bama/ UGA part 2 in back to back games. :lol2: :lol2: Now you're projecting your own personal preferences onto the committee. I admire your determination to completely discredit Bama in every way imaginable my man!

Short of every other team completely collapsing, the big 10 has zero chance of getting 2 teams in.
November 1, 20178 yr Author :lol2: :lol2: Now you're projecting your own personal preferences onto the committee. I admire your determination to completely discredit Bama in every way imaginable my man! Probably but even if you take the names out, I think the committee would be more prone to see a rematch of two teams who played in the middle of the season played at one teams home field as opposed to two teams who played the last week of the season on a neutral site. Keeping all else equal of course. I think that's a more appealing matchup. Not that an appealing matchup is really what they are going for, but I just think the case would be stronger for a team who didn't get the chance to play in their conference championship due to being in a strong division and losing a game on the road to the conference winner vs a team who had a chance to beat the team they would be facing in the semis in the last week of the season. Because it's not like the winner would still be one and the loser still 2. The winner would be 1 and the loser (if they make it would be 4) so they're playing first round. Obviously I have biases, but I can't help it.

November 1, 20178 yr Nobody runs the ball on Bama. I know a guy... Yep; top RB in the NFL. Chubb is good, but not that good
November 1, 20178 yr Then the SEC also has zero chance to get 2 teams in. In all honesty, I think the BIG 10 is a bit overrated this year. I'm not saying the SEC is good either because I think we stink. But nobody really knows anything about PSU and Wisky.
November 1, 20178 yr I don't see it happening, but I hope the Badgers win out and win the B1G championship game.

November 1, 20178 yr Then the SEC also has zero chance to get 2 teams in. So wait a minute. You think OSU and Penn St have a road to both get in but the #1 and #2 team (both undefeated) have zero chance? You were making an argument that Penn St has a chance that also included OSU making it. Penn St won't even play for their conference championship. Now tell me again how the Big 10 has a chance without most of the other top 10 loosing at least 1 more game?
November 1, 20178 yr Just thinking off the top of my head, barring a 2 loss conference champion somewhere, if Notre Dame wins out, I think that'll exclude the SEC runner up. I mean, they've set the thing up to automatically exclude 1 conference champion anyway, by having only 4 playoff berths, and pulling from 5 power conferences. Then you'd be taking away another spot by having an independent as one of the seeds. Having an SEC runner up would eliminate another...meaning the playoffs would only have 2 of the 5 conferences represented. I don't think they'd want that to happen. So, I think they'll be pulling for Notre Dame to lose (maybe to Miami or Stanford) or hoping the SEC Championship (if it is between 2 undefeateds) ends up in a blowout.

If Bama and UGA were in the same division they wouldn't either. Basically you are penalizing Penn State for being in the Big 10 East and rewarding Georgia for being in the SEC East. Penn State needs Oklahoma, Notre Dame, and Clemson to lose another game. That gets them in for sure. That's not exactly unrealistic. I don't care what the polls say this week. Alabama could lose to LSU Saturday. The rankings will change, but Penn State much like Ohio State last year will just be sitting there waiting for their chance.

So you're right, they have a chance.

Has nothing to do with losing in the conf champ game. Mich or MSU will probably be a top 20 team by years end. The committee already said last night that they valued the Bama win against Florida State. So the fact would be that Georgia and Bama would have some quality wins if they both make it to the conf champ game undefeated.

I'll put it this way then, if enough happens for the SEC champ loser to get back in the top 4, then enough will happen for Penn State to get in the top 4 as well. And we'll have 2 SEC and 2 Big 10 teams.
