Falls City isn't cheap any more. I don't think I've ever seen it for less than $8.99 for a six pack, and it's usually more like $9.99. Plus they're definitely trying to make it a craft brew label these days.

 

I considered Sterling, but it isn't distributed too far outside of the Evansville/Owensboro/Louisville/Bowling Green area.

I haven't seen Sterling around the Henderson/Evansville area since they closed the brewery. Where are they making it now?

Then you've never had Old Buckhorn, Goebel's or Burger Beer. I know, age thing.

Michelob Golden Draft is a pretty solid macro, but I understand why it would be omitted as it is not available around here.

 

Leinenkugels probably should have made the list. They have several solid cheap beers.

I intentionally left out the store brand beers...Kirk's Light (Costco), Big Flatts (Walgreens), and then Walmart and Trader Joe's have faux craft beers.

 

Geneessee Cream Ale, Little King's Cream Ale, Lone Star, and Rockdale are all cheapies that will have to fight it out in the NIT with the malt liquors and cervezas.

 

Are they sill making Beer:30?

 

I can't find anything saying they don't make them, but the firewalls at work are relatively strict, and I do seem to remember hearing they stopped production, but in their day, a not-terrible 30-pack for less than $15 would be a tough out in this tournament.

The last time I had Falls City was when they were still brewing it in Evansville at the Sterling brewery. I haven't had a Sterling since I was about 16 or 17. Is it better now too or same bull pee.

Thought about National Bohemian and Carling, but honestly, I can't think of a time that I've even seen either for sale since I was of legal drinking age. They may still be out there, and if so, those may be some legit snubs. Totally forgot Schmidt's was even a thing.

 

I left out Blatz too. In my mind, that wins the award for the worst beer label name out there.

 

I lived off Blatz during my time in Milwaukee. You could get a case of returnable longnecks for $4.95. My house mates and I would go through 6 or 7 cases a week.
