SK does play every team ahead of them on that list but Cov Cath. If they beat Ryle, they will have beaten them all but Cov Cath. So would being last on the list of “toughest schedule” really matter if you beat 8 of the 9 teams ahead you?

Each school gets to make their own schedule as they see fit.

 

Just seems strange that year in, year out SK continues to schedule as if they were building their program (where wins and losses are very important) instead of scheduling to prepare for a deep playoff run. Especially when teams like LaSalle/Elder/Moeller/X are a phone call and 30 minutes away.

I'm not a guy beating the scheduling drum like most. While I do think SK could schedule a little tougher, and would like to see them maybe take on a team from across the river, I'm not as bent out of shape about their schedule as others are. I do think SK is an appealing game for those teams because they would bring a lot of points for a win over them. But to be fair, no NKY team is playing those teams, and aside from Highlands, when they have, NKY teams haven't competed well. I think they do suffer from the poor overall state of 6A football in KY and some bad luck....Bryan Station is way down from past years, and Meade fell off quickly after making a couple deep playoff runs.

Then what about a Fairfield, Anderson, or Mason? Agreed, it doesn't have to be GCL (although if you expect to beat Trinity that is the caliber of team you need to see at once before you play them), but it should be a harder game than Conner or Dixie.

I'd really like to see some teams take on the GMC more. They are a solid median between the ECC and GCL South (except Colerain).
