Mason was playing without 4 starters that are injured. They making out with the best that they have. If you see Bourbon beat Holmes 14-6. Bourbon had players out also. So you have to play the game with the players that you have.

Got to give coach Thomas credit in the 3rd and 4th quarters. Went to smash mouth football and and used the first 8 minutes of 3rd and stopped them on 3 and and had ball rest of 3rd and going into 4th and ate up minutes and shorten game on players.

I think overall, District 7 will compete better this year than the recent past. Scott, Bourbon, Mason and Holmes all have good athletes.

But overall if we can get our injured players back for district games I believe we can compete with Ashland we will play hard until the final whistle. These are a great bunch of kids that play hard no matter if behind or not. Last year if they got down they hung their heads . This year they keep each other up and keep playing. I love this bunch. Could have been 8-0 but the close games we lost may put us at 7-3 after games with grant and Lewis. I told my son last night that you have to keep playing hard and take nothing for granted. Grant and Lewis are looking to give you there best shot and if you are over confident then you will lose those games!! Stay humble.
