October 6, 200620 yr He is lucky to not be in jail. I have a feeling if you or I were to violate our probation, I have a crazy feeling we would probably in jail.
October 6, 200620 yr Author Sorta surprised it wasn't more. Does this suspension cover ALL of his legal woes? This does not cover the case that has yet to go to trial...
October 6, 200620 yr Any truth to the rumor Roger Goodell is going to open a branch office of the NFL in Cincinnati to expedite player discipline matters?
October 6, 200620 yr Author Any truth to the rumor Roger Goodell is going to open a branch office of the NFL in Cincinnati to expedite player discipline matters? I guess they plan on shuitting down the Baltimore office???
October 6, 200620 yr For the next two games (@ Tampa/Carolina) by the NFL... I'm surprised it's 2 with all the talks of 1 game going around. I'm glad to see Goodell taking a stern stance with these things.
October 6, 200620 yr Author CINCINNATI (Oct. 6, 2006) -- The Bengals have been notified by the NFL that WR Chris Henry has been suspended without pay for the team's next two games for violating the NFL's Personal Conduct and Substance Abuse policies. Henry also will be fined $20,000. Under league policy, Henry will be held out of practices as well as Games 5-6, but he will be allowed to attend meetings and to work out individually at team facilities. Games 5-6 are Oct. 15 at Tampa Bay and Oct. 22 vs. Carolina. The Bengals have a bye on this weekend's NFL schedule. Henry will be eligible to rejoin the Bengals' active roster on Mon., Oct. 23. During the suspension, he will be placed on Reserve/Suspended by Commissioner, and will not count against the team's 53-player roster limit. Individual teams are not involved in the administration of the NFL Personal Conduct Policy, and all requests for comment regarding the policy should be directed to the NFL communications office.
October 6, 200620 yr So does this mean that that suspension was 4 weeks? Like most other NFL suspensions are? This past one, the bye week and the next two?
October 6, 200620 yr Author So does this mean that that suspension was 4 weeks? Like most other NFL suspensions are? This past one, the bye week and the next two? No. He was not suspended last week, and the policy you are thinking of is drug only. Suspended two games...
October 6, 200620 yr Good!!!!!!!!! Are you not a Bengals fan? Where is the 6'5" guy to replace him going to come from?
October 6, 200620 yr Are you not a Bengals fan? Where is the 6'5" guy to replace him going to come from? I am not glad he is not playing, I am glad he got punished for being a idiot.
October 6, 200620 yr Pro athletes think they can get away with anything...well they DO get away with anything. And I think (at least in football) thats all going to change.
October 6, 200620 yr I am not glad he is not playing, I am glad he got punished for being a idiot. I don't understand that logic. "I'm glad he got in trouble!??????" I wish he hadn't got caught and if you want to punish him, fine him, beat him, don't punish the Bengals entire team and fanbase by not letting him play. I've said it a million times, teach him how to stay out of trouble because he's going to continue doing things that can get him in trouble.
