With the season SO close, I don't think the "clean house completely" theory works in REALITY. If this was April, sure. But with practice starting THIS weekend, no.

 

He's a place-holder coach for a 2018 hire (when you have a wider pool of potential coaches).

 

Eaves was a no-go based on recent comments.

Davenport wasn't leaving Bellarmine high and dry.

Crum just had a stroke.

 

And I highly, highly doubt Crean would have done it for a six-month and no chance to get a coaching staff in place.

 

But like I said above, if the timing had been different, then YES, completely clean house.

They didn't have much, if any choice to do something quickly with the season being as close as it is. If changes are made, I'd say wait until after the season.

It's a risk to take on Pitino's assistant in the first place, though one I think we'll worth taking right now. I don't see any way a new AD keeps him on after this season.
