colonel-fan Posted September 29, 2017 Posted September 29, 2017 CovCath rallies from a 12-0 halftime deficit. I believe the frosh record improves to 5 - 1. Way to go Colonels!

BubbyKY Posted September 29, 2017 Posted September 29, 2017 Who did the one game they lost come against? Campbell County
katbird Posted September 29, 2017 Posted September 29, 2017 Birds up 12-0 and lose.. Highlands had the ball 1st and goal from the 6yd line at the end of the game and don't score. Why do you not kick a fg on 4th and 2 to win the game?
Sinbad 74 Posted September 29, 2017 Posted September 29, 2017 Covington Catholic poised to be the big dog in northern Kentucky for several years to come. You had a nice run highlands.
colonel-fan Posted September 29, 2017 Author Posted September 29, 2017 Covington Catholic poised to be the big dog in northern Kentucky for several years to come. You had a nice run highlands. Maybe. Maybe not. Time will tell, but they do seem be stacking solid classes on top of each other.

Why do you not kick a fg on 4th and 2 to win the game? I'm going to take a wild guess here and say Highlands either didn't attempt extra points, or had already missed 2 up to that point (Since they had 12 and not 14). They obviously don't have a kicker that they feel is capable on consistently making extra points (Or short field goals). Edited September 29, 2017 by theguru Rule 2

tib Posted September 29, 2017 Posted September 29, 2017 (edited) Frosh Birds scored on first two possessions and Cov Cath looked a bit overmatched talent/speed wise early on (IMO). My father and i were in first row behind the Cov Cath bench and after HHS scored again early in 1st quarter, we both looked at one another and said this was gonna get ugly. Well we were absolutely right - it did get UGLY: There must have been 20 penalties and multiple TD runs called back due to penalties - including Highlands TD at very end of game. Give Cov Cath kids credit - they stood ground/ battled last 3 quarters for a heck of a comeback W. Edited September 29, 2017 by MentschTrachtGottLacht WFV
Foghorn Leghorn Posted September 29, 2017 Posted September 29, 2017 (edited) Why doubtful? I would think the better word to describe it would be 'Possible'. These were obviously 2 evenly matched teams. Both teams scored 2 touchdowns, CovCath just had a better PAT unit. I wasn't at the game, but heard HHS did have a 3rd TD called back by the infamous Defenseless Defender personal foul call. I believe last years's frosh game was a very close contest as well. Saying CovCath is poised to be big dog in Northern Ky because they won a freshman game by 2 PATs is silly. Edited September 29, 2017 by theguru Rule 2
littleluck55 Posted September 29, 2017 Posted September 29, 2017 Covington Catholic poised to be the big dog in northern Kentucky for several years to come. You had a nice run highlands. I don't doubt you but I assume you are not making that assumption on a freshman game that essentially was a tie.
Bluesport Posted September 29, 2017 Posted September 29, 2017 CCH finally has the varsity coaching staff to develop these kids to their full potential. This is 5 Frosh wins in a row and all were close games starting with last year's Senior class.

This is 5 Frosh wins in a row and all were close games starting with last year's Senior class. You mean they have 5 straight wins over Highlands at the frosh level, correct?
