Final

Great game. Congratulations to Corbin on the big win.

Corbin won all three phases of the game tonight.

Must say I'm a little surprised by this. Corbin is a very good team, but this doesn't bode well for Mayfield in a ridiculous class 2A.

Mayfield

Total yards ---315

Passing ---229

Rushing ---96 yards on 25 carries

Penalties ---7-45

Corbin

Total yards --310

Passing --163

Rushing--147

Penalties -- 12-136

Mayfield doesn't have the quarterback play to win 2A this year. IMO

I can't speak to that but this Class is by far going to be the most entertaining come playoff time. Lots of quality football is played among this class!

Good luck to the Cardinals the rest of the way!

Good game. Too many mistakes but hey plenty to learn from. Season isn't over

I wasn't at the game but I wanted to ask some of those who were in attendance about the officiating. The Cobin broadcast crew were all over the stripes for most of the game. They said Mayfield must have brought the refs with them to TN. Was it as terrible as it seemed listening to the Corbin broadcast? I know there was about a 3 to 1 disparity in penalty yardage.

I was at the game. The officiating was pretty bad but went both ways. Congrats to Corbin. They played a good ball game. All 3 of their TDS was scored against our corner. 1 player. We better fix that and fix it in a hurry!!!!!!!!!!!

IMO... we could not run the ball against that d-line. Not being able to run in the red zone hurt us. Put to much pressure on the sophomore qb and it showed. He made some critical mistakes but it’s a learning experience. I thought the defense played pretty well except for our corner. I’ll give him one on the trick play but the other 2 just can’t happen

Thanks. I hate when idiot announcers whine about officiating. I was really surprised that the Corbin defense held the Mayfield attack in check as much as it did.

After the schedule that we’ve played these first 6 six games I’ll take 5-1 any day. We have to take care of business next week against Murray and then a much needed break.

I agree. We kind of went away from the running game and was relying on a sophomore qb to win us the game. Refs were pretty bad all night but we got to be better disciplined on the penalties.
