I love the Russelville stadium the outside is amazing.

I stumbled across these on the state's visual archive site. Many were taken at WPA sites. I thought they were neat.

Do you have any pictures from the inside?

Manual Stadium's entrance

If I remember, next time I go to Manual stadium I'm bringing a camera.

Thanks for sharing, Scribe. I am a huge fan of high school football venues in general, and the old ones (WPA) in particular.

What year was the first year that ballgames were played at Manual stadium??

^ Ive watched many a game in this stadium since 1975. Great place to watch a game with a unique setup with respect to the stands, locker rooms and hill.... I can remember many years ago that the roof tops of the houses on the west and east ends of the stadium would have several people on them watching the games. It got to be quite a "normal" thing back in the late 70's... I understand that many a great football players played on that field over the years: Hornung, Lyons, just to name two.... Many of the Male vs, Manual T-Day games.... St. X games etc... I hope that Manual can keep up the property and maintain the stadium where it is today with respect to facilities etc. Need new lights and restrooms, concession stands etc.... Just how many a young man, middle aged man, old men have visited the local neighborhood pubs over the years on there way to or from Manual stadium??? Great tradition.....
