I'll go with the Reds based on the nature of the sport. You can go from really bad to really good virtually overnight. See KC, Houston, Cleveland, Cubs, etc. There is also just a constant turnover in baseball. You have teams like the Giants and the Red Sox who will will a World Series and then fall off the face of the earth for 2 years and win the division. You don't see that in football. It also helps that the Reds are in a much better place organizationally than the Bengals and always will be as long as Mike Brown is in charge.

Disagree. There is more turnover in football. Especially in terms of playoffs. You see teams go from worst to first. You see teams like the falcon going from bad to all of a sudden in the Super Bowl. The turnover in football is much higher and see teams flip flop very quick just like the Cowboys last year too.

In baseball it doesn't happen over night at all. In fact takes some of these teams years to build to eventually being good. It took the Cubs year to finally do well again. Same with Kansas City, Cleveland, etc. They just didn't go from bad to good. In all three cases people saw signs of it coming with young talent. In baseball you have to hope your young talent pans out or you have to spend a butt load of money. In football if you get a good qb, you become good over night.

Take the reds for example. The reds could be good again in a few years if their young talent pans out. If not they basically have to go back to a rebuild again. The cubs, totals, etc went through multiple rebuilds before finally getting good enough to compete. It could be 10 or more years again before the reds even see the playoffs. Baseball went through a nice period in the last 5 years with young talent panning out with the Cubs, royals. But before that it didn't happen much. We had the Giants winning 3 in 6 years, the Yankees, red Sox, and cardinals alot too in the last 20 years. The last few years it's been nice and refreshing for baseball with some new teams competing finally.

In the Bengals sake as bad as they looked I still think they are a lot closer. They are just a few pieces away like having a different coach for starters. They have a good young core, and well the best qb of all time in Brady has to slow down eventually you would think haha.

As inept as the Bengals franchise has been...

-The NFL is built to be balanced and equal

-Wildcard teams can get hot and win 4 games in the NFL

-Series format favors the better team in baseball

-Baseball is much tougher on small markets; salary difference

If I had to bet on one, I would pick the Bengals.

You simply don't see teams in the NFL go do what the Royals and Cubs did and what the Astros might do. It just doesn't happen. The question was about Super Bowl. The Super Bowl is a good ole boys club.

What those teams have done happened in the last 5 years. Overall in baseball there is not much turnover at all. However these last 5 years it has been refreshing to see it happen. However these last 5 years are more of the exception rather than the rule.

Even in the NFL. We seen Seattle go from horrible to winning a super bowl two years later and being the legion of boom. The pats were horrible and then get Tom Brady and became a dynasty. The Broncos didn't do anything for years after Elway retired and they win a super bowl 2 years ago. The Atlanta Falcons go from not good the last few years to should have won the Super Bowl. Carolina Panthers went from horrible to 15 and 1 and making the Super Bowl back to horrible. Dallas Cowboys from horrible to 14 and 2 or whatever they were.

There is definitely more turnover in football. Howvwer I will admit in these last 5 years it's been nice to see the surprise teams of Cubs and Royals going from horrible to sealing the deal. My point is overall there isn't much turnover in baseball, so those stories aren't going to keep happening.

1998 Rams win 4 games. 1999 Rams starting qb injures knee, but yet they win the Super Bowl. 2000 Patriots win 5 games. 2001 they win the Super Bowl. New York Giants dont have a winning record in 2006. Next year they win the super bowl. Seattle Seahawks 2011 have a losing record. Two years later they win the Super Bowl.

So the NFL has seen drastic turn arounds to from horrible to super bowl champs. Only difference is baseball has had that happen twice in the last 5 years. As a whole it doesn't happen much in either sport. However we do see it happen more in football in at least making the playoffs and or being horrible to being dominate the next year.
