Blocked punt after a blown call against Somerset was the difference maker in this one.

Castleman with the lone TD of the game.

Defensive lines dominated the trenches tonight.

Yep, that was the game.

The Tigers escape from a rainy windy night after a 2 and half hour drive with a win.

That's how I look at it.

Go Tigers!

And for any of you that don't know I went to Beechwood.

So anyone that attended, how good are the #10 Somerset Briar Jumpers?

Feel bad for the JV boys that have to play tomorrow morning. They won't be getting home until well after midnight and then have to turn around and play at 10 tomorrow morning, assuming their game is still on.

I am going to guess that the JV didn't play much tonight. They are young Tigers, they should be fine.

Wow, surprised by the score. I thought the Tigers would of taken the Briar Jumpers to the wood shed. 2a might be in for a surprise if Somerset plays like this the rest of the year.

Rule 2

When you play in tough conditions on grass, anything can happen. I don't know if that score tells us much about these two teams. Speed negated. Passing game negated. Turnovers. All that goes for both teams.

JV game is at noon. A couple hours extra time for the players after getting in late tonight. Playing Highlands at Beechwood.

I was at the game last night what was the blown call on the punt the refereeing was bad on both teams

What an ugly game!!!!! Neither offense could get anything going with the rain and field conditions. At one point I thought we might be there all night! Somerset is a nice squad with good size. Neither team could get a push on the offensive line making it tough to run all night. Turning point of the game was when Beechwood went to the wildcat with Castleman. He ran hard and we finally started getting some sort of push and he was able to get big chunks of yards. The officiating was very lack luster. One official that was on our sideline the second half looked like he had never officiated a football game. At one point an official pushed one of our players which didn't sit well with me. All that aside a win is a win and I enjoyed my trip to Somerset. @Jumper_Dad thanks for the restaurant recommendation it was delicious. The twice baked spaghetti was awesome and the half pound burger was perfectly cooked!!!!!!!
